@neatchee So, I did get a chance to rewatch in English. All voices were good except Suzume, herself. I'm not sure if she just sounded too old for the character but there was some quality I didn't care for. My wife even brought it up before I did.
That said, just a criticism. It's not like it ruined the show. Just a bit distracting at times.
@askDNA cool! Glad to hear it was overall a good performance. Interesting that your wife reacted that way to Suzume; I always wonder when I react to English voices whether I'm biased by the JP depiction of the character so useful to know in this case that's not what happened.
Just got back from watching Suzume. What a wonderful, enchanting movie. Big time Howl's Moving Castle vibes. Amazing imagery and symbolism that leaves room for interpretation, but still conveys a clear deeper meaning than the surface story.
9/10, maybe even 10. Will need to ruminate on that.
@GenXotaku1971 I will need to check it the English dub when it comes to digital. I really really enjoyed the Japanese VO so I'm curious to see if they got a good performance in English
Finally watched #SuzumeNoTojimari with a friend and sobbed my eyes out. I came into it thinking it would be a silly chair romance and came out of it dehydrated and with an scheduled therapy session. #anime
Dopo i successi di Your Name e Weathering With You, Makoto Shinkai torna oggi nei cinema italiani con Suzume. La storia forse è un po' prevedibile, ma il film entra di diritto tra i migliori del regista per il ritmo, le tematiche e il comparto visivo.
