Another fragment of past homelife scattered on the shore.
This looks like a bit of spongeware - I wonder what the full design looked like 🤔

Another multi-holed Hagstone - this one reminds me of the Moai from Rapa Nui (The large statues from Easter Island) but pocket sized.
It is actually a piece of shale that's been drilled through by Piddocks (marine bivalves).

This cow/horse tooth has been worn down and polished over years by the actions of sand and stones along the shoreline. I tend to find them near river mouths or close by.

A teeny wee baby, Thicklip grey mullet (Chelon labrosus) - although adults are common in Irish inshore waters and estuaries throughout the summer months they are rarely targeted as a food species and fished mainly for sport.

Two spirals from very different times found metres apart on the same beach - the first is a fossilized Goniatite that's over 300 million years old. The second is the remains of a keel worm (Pomatoceros triqueter) tube (the protective calcareous casing that these polychaete worms live in) and is probably only than a few years old. I think this might be the skull of a Manx Shearwater (Puffinus puffinus),but this is a guess based on its similarities to pics I've seen - if anyone has any other suggestions I'd love to hear them!
