Speaking of movies and TV Show, at last weeks Friday night movie (in my friends back yard), we watched the Russian movie, The Stalker (1979).
I very much enjoyed the movie, but it's not something I would recommend to many of my friends, unless they are adventuresome film buffs. You have to enjoy art house foreign films, with sub-titles to make it through this marathon of a movie.
This was my first Tarkovsky movie. I did some reseach after watching and learned about the tribulations of making the film and the health impacts on the crew.
Reminds me of other favorite films and how they are more impressive when one hears the stories behind their making.
Apocalypse Now and Fitzcarraldo come to mind. Have you seen Fitzcarraldo? It's worth viewing.
I look forwarding to watching more Trakovsky movies in the future, although there are not many.
