Getting around to posting some recent sketches I've done while traveling for work.... This is my view at #bradleyinternationalairport for my trip to Springfield, Ma, Worcester, MA and Albany, NY.
Working hard to simplify and paint more, draw less.
A vintage PCC streetcar in traditional green-and-white Muni colors runs from left to right along the F Market line in San Francisco, against a white background.
A quick sketch of a fire engine in profile. Notes on colors ("red," "white," "yellow," etc.) as the truck was from another firehouse, loading equipment, and I knew I'd have to paint the ink sketch after it left.
Quick urban watercolor sketch of a typical multi-unit late/mid-century apartment building done in watercolor and ink. At left is a stop sign on my side of the street. Under the drawing I've written/painted the words "14th & Irving 7•10•23" in big letters.
Quick watercolor/ink sketch of the intersection of Irving St. and 27th Ave. A blue van is parked diagonally in front of a Sterling Bank branch on the corner. Across 26th, a brick Edwardian apartment building rises six floors above the street.
