Strength in unity

The lesson from the story of Scotland’s water is that when Scotland is united, it wins, The UK Government was forced to back down on this - although it forced through privatisations in many other areas.

Scotland can be confident that when it stands together and demands independence from the UK, it will succeed. That will allow it to take decisions over Scotland’s resources and utilities that benefit ordinary people.

Sunaks' name and shame game reveals desperate depths of the Unionist cause

The fact the PM of the UK is trying to label a fully democratic, civic and internationalist home rule movement as extremists tells you more about the UK than it does about those that believe in Scotland. The great irony in this is that it's the UK Government and its copycat opposition/government in waiting that are the extremists. The two London parties are turning the UK into an embarrassment

Believe in Scotland calls on Scotland's First Minister to personally take on Independence portfolio

"We call on John Swinney to state officially that he personally is now the Minister for Independence going forward. Furthermore, we believe that every Government Minister and SNP spokespeople should be briefed to make the case for independence at every opportunity and with more consistency than the SNP have managed since 2014."

MSPs vote for full compensation for Waspi women - but Labour abstain

MSPs HAVE backed the Scottish Government in a call for “compensation in full” to be paid to women impacted by state pension inequality.

However, Scottish Labour chose to abstain on the motion – instead pushing an amendment calling for "clarity" on a compensation scheme, which ultimately failed.

The Scottish Parliament voted by 75 votes to zero

Five ways the Safety of Rwanda Bill shambles shows why it's time to stop Westminster making law for Scotland

Many Scots this week will be asking themselves for how long their country will have to be represented by the shambolic and increasingly lawless UK. The Safety of Rwanda Bill, which tells British judges they must say Rwanda is safe – whatever the evidence – plumbs new depths.

Scotland is ‘the loser’ from UK Government’s raid on oil and gas – Business for Scotland

UK Chancellor Jeremy Hunt said the oil and gas industry were the losers from the last budget. But he didn’t go far enough – he should have admitted that Scotland is the loser. Scotland’s economic future is at stake. Failing to manage the transition from oil and gas to renewables effectively would mean a massive loss of jobs and prosperity.

Creating Scotland

It has become clear that a key element missing from the Independence Campaign since 2014 has been the cultural side of the campaign and a creative element to our campaigning activities. Believe in Scotland wants to change that. Our Campaign Steering Group has set up a sub group to work towards embedding cultural and creative activities in our campaign. 'Creating Scotland' is the first of many steps in this direction and we hope you are keen to join us!

The House of Lords to sit in judgement over Scots’ democratic rights

The fact that a House of Lords committee of elderly Unionists thinks it has the legitimacy to sit in judgement over the democratic rights of Scots will anger many.

This swollen body of unelected people appointed for life – the youngest being Carmen Smith, a party staffer aged 27 – is an affront to democracy that Scotland will always be saddled with while it remains in the UK.

Sunak fails to mention how the Conservative Party has failed Scotland over energy

Sunak was speaking in a city that has little to show for the oil boom that passed through the North East, where natural resources that took literally millions of years to make were extracted, sold and used up within the space of one human lifespan, creating unimaginable profits. Arguably the city has been left behind in stark contrast to other oil-rich cities like Oslo or Houston.

Scotland can be reinvented to create an inspiring wellbeing culture

So the Scottish Government's Wellbeing and Sustainable Development Bill is a start, but it's only half of the formula.

Policies are boring, ownership is everything

However, none of that will easily seep into the culture of the nation. For the average voter to buy into this change they have to engage with it and to feel ownership of it.
