BitSound, to chatgpt in Worse and worse

Relevant HN thread that was just posted:

You’re not the only one noticing it

BitSound, to technicaldeathmetal in Mods are drunk, post/comment your off-genre recommendations!

Anup Sastry - Lion

All of his stuff is good. He programs weird guitar riffs and then drums along to them and ends up with some great music. Most of it’s instrumental, but his most recent album has a bunch of collaborations with vocalists

BitSound, to asklemmy in Am I the only software engineer greatly worried and disturbed by AI ?

Yes those are also examples of AI, see relevant Wikipedia article:

AI is whatever hasn’t been done yet

We need better terms to specify exactly what we mean, e.g. a numeric scale of intelligence or maybe even something more complex like a radar chart.

I couldn’t view this with Firefox or Gnome. ImageMagick to the rescue, though:

BitSound, to memes in Everything I need is still in in the old settings windows that haven't changed in 23 years

There’s some even older UI bits buried around in there:

BitSound, to fatlogic in no words for this

BMI isn’t perfect, but it’s a good approximation

If your BMI is a little over/under, maybe try getting a more accurate assessment. If your BMI is 40 or higher then you should lose some weight because you’re unhealthy.

BitSound, to linux_gaming in Linux use on Steam ends 2023 with a multi-year high (thanks Steam Deck)

There’s a good chance there will be a virtuous cycle, where the Steam Deck’s popularity makes it easier to game on Linux for regular PC users too, which will help out everyone gaming on Linux. Especially as Microsoft keeps dicking around with Windows and trying to turn it into a subscription OS and people just get sick of it.

BitSound, to technicaldeathmetal in Gojira - Into the Storm (France, 2021)

I really like this album. It’s got good heavy stuff like in the post, but also the title track is a healing mantra, which was something that helped me quite a bit recently.

BitSound, to linux in Is it me or is (desktop) Linux still a terrible experience?

It’s because old advice dies hard. Ubuntu had a good like 15 years of being the default choice, but now Canonical wants to IPO and they’re going to wring as much revenue as they can from anything they can get their hands on. That inevitably leads to enshittification, and Ubuntu is going through that process right now.

BitSound, to asklemmy in What's a cool website you’ve visited that no one seems to know of?

Very similar to a puzzle from a collection that I play on Android:

www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/…/net.html

BitSound, to world in Russia has lost 87% of troops it had prior to start of Ukraine war, according to US intelligence assessment

They’d have to have a democracy in order for it to be called a democracy

BitSound, to jellyfin in TVDB metadata pulled by Jellyfin is different from the data pulled by sonarr, filebot, plex, or the tvdb website itself.

Do you have an example? Have you tried the “replace all metadata” option?

King Gizzard’s newest thrashy album is good:

Also holy hell do they put out a lot of music. 25 albums in the last 11 years.
