BitSound,

Relevant HN thread that was just posted:

You’re not the only one noticing it

BitSound,

Anup Sastry - Lion

All of his stuff is good. He programs weird guitar riffs and then drums along to them and ends up with some great music. Most of it’s instrumental, but his most recent album has a bunch of collaborations with vocalists

BitSound,

Yes those are also examples of AI, see relevant Wikipedia article:

AI is whatever hasn’t been done yet

We need better terms to specify exactly what we mean, e.g. a numeric scale of intelligence or maybe even something more complex like a radar chart.

BitSound,

You might also be interested in checking out Zellij, it’s like tmux with nice defaults

BitSound,

BMI isn’t perfect, but it’s a good approximation

If your BMI is a little over/under, maybe try getting a more accurate assessment. If your BMI is 40 or higher then you should lose some weight because you’re unhealthy.

BitSound,

There’s a good chance there will be a virtuous cycle, where the Steam Deck’s popularity makes it easier to game on Linux for regular PC users too, which will help out everyone gaming on Linux. Especially as Microsoft keeps dicking around with Windows and trying to turn it into a subscription OS and people just get sick of it.

BitSound,

I really like this album. It’s got good heavy stuff like in the post, but also the title track is a healing mantra, which was something that helped me quite a bit recently.

BitSound,

It’s because old advice dies hard. Ubuntu had a good like 15 years of being the default choice, but now Canonical wants to IPO and they’re going to wring as much revenue as they can from anything they can get their hands on. That inevitably leads to enshittification, and Ubuntu is going through that process right now.

Russia has lost 87% of troops it had prior to start of Ukraine war, according to US intelligence assessment (www.cnn.com)

Russia has lost a staggering 87 percent of the total number of active-duty ground troops it had prior to launching its invasion of Ukraine and two-thirds of its pre-invasion tanks, a source familiar with a declassified US intelligence assessment provided to Congress told CNN....

BitSound,

They’d have to have a democracy in order for it to be called a democracy

BitSound,

And there’s a Lemmy community for it, where the creator is pretty active: !pixeldungeon

BitSound,

What sort of games do you consider good? By “droid” do you mean F-Droid, or Android?

TVDB metadata pulled by Jellyfin is different from the data pulled by sonarr, filebot, plex, or the tvdb website itself.

Sonarr, filebot, Plex (all pulling from tvdb), and the tvdb website itself, are all in agreement as to the episode number and title of some episodes in trying to add to my library. Jellyfin, also pulling from tvdb, insists on completely different information, in spite of the fact that it’s getting the series ID correct, so...

BitSound,

Do you have an example? Have you tried the “replace all metadata” option?

BitSound,

That’s pretty much exactly how I feel about Spiral Architect. Everyone does their own thing amazingly, but it just doesn’t work together as a whole:

Blotted Science is pretty much the same thing, but done right. Everything’s technical, but grooves nicely together

BitSound,

King Gizzard’s newest thrashy album is good:

…bandcamp.com/…/petrodragonic-apocalypse-or-dawn-…

Also holy hell do they put out a lot of music. 25 albums in the last 11 years.

BitSound,

Those questions really don’t need to be asked. I charge off of a regular outlet, level 2 charging at home is nice but unnecessary. If those questions keep coming up, it’s likely from dealers that are fearmongering.

BitSound,

I have no idea, and that’s kind of my point. I’ve never bothered checking, because charging off of a regular outlet is enough for me, and it will be enough for a lot of other people too.
