What they want is freedom to control reality. What Republicans say, every day is not real, they don’t live in reality. What they want is not free speech, they have that more than ever. What they want is to dictate reality to the rest of us.
It’s been a rough day. First I tried the lemmy-easy-deploy script because, hey, I’m lazy. That failed, so I then tried the ansible playbook and had some success with it. At first, Let’s Encrypt was not working, and I had to sort out my dynamic dns provider....
Today, like the past few days, we have had some downtime. Apparently some script kids are enjoying themselves by targeting our server (and others). Sorry for the inconvenience....
I’ve noticed that some of the pieces that make up RES are already out there, they’re just not part of one extension. I do expect that will happen at some point in the near future.
Reddit tried to sticky this post for moderators around 12p CST today, and they’ve since tried to bury it. Thought it might be good to back up the link here.
The browser tab is blank, and unless I’m doing something wrong there is no Favicon set for Lemmy.World. I would hazard a guess that most of us have lots and lots of tabs open at any given time. Would it be possible to add an icon to help make it easier to locate lemmy.world tabs?
I see it there, in transferred, it shows service worker. Everything appears to be working. If I may, what did you have to tweak to make it work because I do have a lot of extensions and userscripts running.
I might have to look more into my state’s right to be forgotten law. I used PDS for about 2 weeks until no more zombie posts were in my profile (most resurrected by the opening of closed subs). I was cleaning out some gaming book marks and clicked on a reddit thread I’d kept and, lo and behold, I found myself in the...
The way listings work on reddit is very confusing to most users. I used to think that listings refilled once you removed things from them, but they don’t. If you have more than 1000 posts, comments, or whatever, you won’t ever see the 1001st thing.
I’ve noticed that there are a few communities that tend to dominate when viewing all. Some days it gets to where looking at all isn’t very different than just looking at Memes@lemmy.ml or 196@lemmy.blahaj.zone....

How can I run a Lemmy instance on a rPi 4? I've tried several methods and both fail because docker didn't support arm v7 or v8

RIght now lemmy doesn’t calculate or display a user’s “karma”. And many think this a good thing (me included)....
