My partner and I bought a car together this week.

He’d kept his working for 15 years but it didn't have air conditioning, and between my sensory issues and the planet's ever hotter summers, this meant I was rarely willing to go anywhere.

I don't want to sit around alone waiting for the end.

After so many years without my own car, I can't help feeling like I've bought into Mad Max. But I want to get to places where I can help people and build community, so I hope it is at least Furiosa.

Mood: seeing a video of a bear righting an orange traffic cone and, instead of being amused by how human the action is, being depressed by what our presence has done to wildlife and the barren landscape in which the bear walks.

Which of the following are deserving of gratitude?

An email from a store I don't shop at.

I click here to unsubscribe.

The result is not that store's URL advising they will stop…

but rather a long fillable form from some who the fuck knows third party ad company.

I could uncheck a box to stop receiving that type of email…

but there was no option to “confirm" or "submit”; I had to “save profile.”

No. Fucking no.

My plan for tomorrow is (1) laundry and (2) Star Trek AND THAT'S IT.

I'm so confused by alumni emails.

Am I supposed to feel affinity for people because they sat in the same classrooms at a different time from me?

Be funny if the aurora borealis is actually atmospheric distortion caused by approaching warp bubbles and we're about to be invaded.

A thing that I truly do not enjoy about apparently cishetsexual relationships is how often I've found myself saying “do you have any movies with women in them?”

As society reverts to the 70s, I can feel myself getting angrier about bras.

If you need or like them, please carry on.

But with certain aerobic exceptions, I find bras useless at best. At worst, they’re painful. They’re also expensive and labour-consuming.

All that just because other people are weird about the fact of boobs and incapable of minding their own business.

Angrifying.

I was audibly incredulous at my partner when he phoned just now in response to a text I'd sent.

I’d asked him to send a link for the thing he had emailed about.

He said my request was unclear.

It made me want to give up on language entirely. If this was unclear, communication is literally impossible.

Then I realized the issue was actually that he hadn't bothered to read thoughtfully and had just instinctively phoned in response as per his communication preferences.

Which movie I recorded on a whim and likely won't get all the way through should I watch?

Could somebody explain to me, briefly, what Book did to Burnham? I missed season 4 and don't know if it’s something I would find inexcusable or if I should be team love conquers all.

I understand are watching Enterprise next.

I think I've started and quit that series twice now because I was annoyed at how unnecessarily horny it was. That generation of was notoriously bad to its female cast, and the escalation from “acting in a painful catsuit" to “rubbing goo, lit like soft porn" put me off.

But perhaps I will try to out-horn the writers this time. I bet it's more fun with a hot gay lens.

How do the comm badges on know where to transport their wearer to? Is the computer reading their minds, or do they tap it differently for various presets?

How hard would it be to design a website where workers could start calculating (aggregating ?) the costs of this absolute horseshit new in-office policy?

E.g.: bus / car costs, time costs (hourly wage), environmental costs, additional child care costs, dry cleaning / makeup costs, other…?

The final episode of Voyager!

The crew is now old. Harry Kim is now a captain rather than an ensign.

Apparently you can fly a starship through the Golden Gate bridge.

The neighbour for whom I have been dogsitting has given me matzah ball soup.

Not, like, a tupperware of it: a pot of it.

A nice pot. From her kitchen. Full of soup.

Get Smart (2008)! I don’t think I’ve seen this one, but I have seen the original TV show, which was very silly.

Edit: now I think I have seen this. I think I found it dude-heavier than I hoped for a remake.

Ghostbusters, gender-swap remake. I saw this when it came out in theatres, which was apparently 2016 (!).

What I remember is that Kate McKinnon is hot, Chris Hemsworth is adorable, and there was more gross-out humour than I would have liked.

I recorded The Wedding Planner (2001), starring Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey. Let’s see if I can watch this!

My track record for JLo films is I’ve watched Out of Sight multiple times, I think I made it all the way through Maid in Manhattan, and I aborted the sperm bank one with a quickness.
