Dude really read a history book about Hitler fighting a one front war and somehow turning it into a three front war and said “Hold my beer”

Warner Brothers can’t even run a good business when it comes to movies in the DC universe, so I’m not surprised that can’t run a gaming business either.

WB is incompetent. Look no further than Arkham Knight which had horrible publishing and whose PC port was farmed out to the lowest bidder. Arkham Knight succeeded despite its publisher and not because of it. Same thing with Hogwarts.

So yeah if they’ve even forced a studio to make a sequel, buckle up. They’re going full EA at this point and they don’t care if they run it into the ground. Just need a bigger graveyard to put this game next to Henry Cavils Superman.

With how good the intelligence community is at its job, I’d be surprised if all of the working ones went up. I’d bet a lot of them are compromised.

Why are they not separated out in any way? There should be separate bins for “active posters” “active commenters” and “active voters”. Otherwise you’re going to get some wacky data problems like this.

Yeah it doesn’t take a genius to hate Nintendo for simple things like artificially limiting amibos stock to make more money

‘This is B.S.’: Maddow shreds ‘cravenness’ of Supreme Court delaying Trump trial (www.msnbc.com)

“This is B.S.—you were doing this as a dilatory tactic to help your political friend,” says Rachel Maddow on the Supreme Court agreeing to hear the Trump immunity argument, delaying his coup trial. “And for you to say that this is something that the Court needs to decide because it’s something that’s unclear in the...

Why are people not ready to riot over this? People should be in the streets and setting cars on fire.

The highest court in the land just made a move so corrupt and blatant that there is no defense of it. They’re helping a criminal insurrectionist ex-president escape charges. Are you kidding me?! This is a complete delegitimization of an entire branch of governments highest office with life appointments.

Not only did they not need to take the case but they set it up to delay his trials as long as possible. Meaning that now, his trials WILL LIKELY NOT HAPPEN BEFORE THE ELECTION.

At best we might get a verdict on one or two before the election but sentencing will not take place and that is IF there are no other delays. Those are slim chances.

So yes America will be heading to the polls this November with Trump facing potentially zero responsibility for his actions, maybe found guilty before January, whereupon he could be sworn in and cancel his own trials or could pardon himself.

This court has just shown they would allow him to do that. Why else take this case if not a blatant desire to unfairly install Trump as president? There’s no reason. What I’m telling you is that he won’t face justice if he wins the election. And this just increased his chances of winning dramatically.

@CleoTheWizard@lemmy.world avatar

That’s only if everything goes to plan. If it does not, it will be close to or after the election that we get any of these cases back and then we’d really be screwed. Basically if he’s succeeded in delaying the cases this far out already, what makes you think he can’t delay another month somehow? This year is about to be really really ugly.

Remedy acquires full rights to the Control franchise from 505 (www.destructoid.com)

Today, on February 28, nearly five years after Control’s initial launch, Remedy Entertainment, the team behind the Alan Wake, Quantum Break, and Control series, released an announcement regarding a deal between them and 505 Games, detailing a full transition to Remedy acquiring full rights to the franchise. While Remedy...

Well Vanced was a lot different, they were actually redistributing code from YouTube. They were asking to be sued and they got off really easy.

Whereas here, no code is being used afaik. They don’t even include the keys for the decryption for the console. So the only thing this can do is: decrypt game files once provided keys and then run an emulated graphics pipeline and logic process for said game.

Now I can see an argument about how Yuzu is specifically built to emulate the Switch which is a current product. Which makes this sketchy. But also it’s an emulator. What’s better is that breaking the law is not required to use the emulator. You can get your own rom rips and keys and use them with the emulator which gives it a legal purpose as a 3rd party application.

This is Nintendo just trying to scare them Id bet. Not a zero chance that Yuzu could lose though.

Highly recommend it, especially since you can finish it in only a few days. It’s a nice break game to play when you’re making your way through a longer game too.

This is weird but I had almost the exact same experience. Would’ve been junior high for me when I met him and he talked to me about it every time I saw him after I mentioned it offhand once. It’s all he ever talked to me about. Then years later in high school I had him in a class again and went to say hi and unprompted he began talking about the game again. Definitely an odd experience but I did think about him when I played this game lol.

Shout out to all of the fellow Lemmy people with IBS/IBD who cannot be more than 5 minutes from a bathroom and yet have no right to one in public. It’s a legitimate disability that the ADA does not cover despite more and more people having it. The right to accessible bodily waste disposal should be recognized the world over.

CleoTheWizard,
@CleoTheWizard@lemmy.world avatar

What I mean by this is that the ADA recognizes it as a disability and you can get work accommodations for it, but the ADA does not require access to public bathrooms to be made available. I view it as an accommodation similar to wheelchair ramps on sidewalks or businesses, the law should absolutely change.

Some states have enacted their own policy that allows you to carry and show a card that states your disability and forces businesses to open their restroom to you, even if its employees only. This should be done at the national level though.

I’m not an expert on this btw, this has just been my own experience and research on it having IBD myself.

Not OC but they’re just pointing out that one is free work for a corporation that just paid two people nearly $200 million off your back. Whereas Lemmy moderation is currently just volunteer work in the interest of community. Not saying people can’t profit off of community facilitation, but in that case their moderators are staff and should be treated as such.

I don’t write very often so everyone’s feedback here is much appreciated! I’ll work on taking it on board in future since I don’t want my composition to distract from the conversation I’m trying to create.

Sounds like I need to play this game next then. Expect that review in the near future!

All good points. I didn’t speak much about it here but both games feel very much like tech demos at times. Especially Tooie. And it’s cool that they were trying to explore, but they ended up not connecting the dots as much here. The story was even more in the background than usual. But as I also pointed out, a lot of the games mechanics aren’t consistent or explored fully. So it’s like a bunch of game designers made the game and the art was an afterthought.

I’m definitely aware that using a modern controller makes the game harder to control. With the first game, I actually didn’t have a problem with that much. Here though, there’s some real sticking points for me that I feel go beyond the modern controller limits.

The best way to put it is that the trigger button is a layer modifier. It changes most controls in the game to do something different while pressed. In the first game, this was fine because the both layers stayed the same. Here though you now have 3 different layers depending on if you have banjo, kazooie, or both. I got the hang of it but it takes time because it’s more complicated than one might think.

Heres a control guide to demonstrate my point
