Hi! I figure some folks might have opinions on what's the best registrar to use. In the recent past I have used Gandi, Siteground, and GoDaddy. I'd love to learn about alternatives. Currently I am only using my custom domain names for forwarding although I may get back to hosting content in the future.
I’ve recently learned of Njalla, created by one the founders of The Pirate Bay focused on providing true anonymity. Handy if take-down/DMCA notices are a problem for you.
Yup, thats how they provide anonymity to their customers: The domain is registered under their company name, providing their contact information to the public registrar; while transferring full control to you. This means any contact via whois goes to them instead of you or a less tolerant host.
They don’t provide a proxy/waf service by default, the dns records point to your ip/infrastructure just as any other domain does. You can however host via their vps services and/or route traffic through their vpn to hide your ip as well if you like.
Open the non direct link, select ‘show desktop site’ if your on mobile, then right click/long press on the image and select ‘open image in new tab’ to get the image link.
There seems to be a sub-group of salty dogs that sail without protection. They are often US saying they get lots of letters from ISP but nothing comes of it, lately. I’m one to hedge on the side of caution and will be continuing to use VPN but just wondering how much this is just a loud minority and how much truth is to it?
I torrented the vast majority of my growing 28tb library without a vpn over the last 7ish years.
This year alone, I’ve received 45 email notices from my ISP forwarding copyright claims to me. Neither the ISP nor any claimants have taken further action and the content in the claim(s) has always finished seeding and been removed from the torrent client by the time I’ve received the notice. (the notice specifies a particular torrent title/filename)
Despite not yet having legal issues or service interruptions; I have just recently decided to switch from torrenting to usenet via Frugal Usenet+NZBGeek (usenet provider+indexer). Better availability (In 2 days, I grabbed 2.8tb of content I hadn’t been able to find via torrents and 15+ indexers), continuous 70+mbps downloads, and no need for a vpn while also not receiving anymore copyright claims for only about $6/month.
Been a bit since I tried: has valve done anything to improve the bot situation, or is the game still unplayable?
Last time I tried to play; I got into 3 games over 2 weeks that weren’t already infested with aimhack bots; but you had to be ontop of constantly vote-kicking the bots that did join every 2-3min.
C. (/edit, I totally read ‘rate my first fork’… 🤷)
White moved themselves into a fork (and one where they are being attacked by two pieces each).
A fork is supposed to be created by your move forcing the opponent to choose which piece they loose. This is just your opponent letting you choose which of their pieces you’d like to have and giving up their own material pointlessly.
My problem with it is how inconsistently things get placed.
App downloaded an image: it could be in the apps main data folder, DCIM, Pictures, Documents, or even a new folder at the base of the tree. Add an sd card and that list doubles as all those same locations exist separately on the sd card as well. (I’ve had images land in all 10 of these locations before)
/edit missed the ‘download’ folder. 12 possible locations.
Picked up a 19" at a garage sale for 5 dollars. Hadn’t realized it only had an RF input until I got the sucker home, just wondering if anyone has adapter recommendations or tips for picture quality?
What does "Copy URL to Fediverse" do?
I see that is copies a shortened version of the link to your clipboard. For example this link:...
Alternative to RARBG
RARBG shutting down left a huge hole for me and I can’t figure out what’s a good alternative for it other than 1337. Any suggestions?
STOP saying “fuck u/spez” START saying “FIRE STEVE HUFFMAN”
“fuck u/spez” means absolutely nothing to anyone who isn’t familiar with Reddit, it’s just noise....

We should start calling u/spez by his real name. Because most people won’t know who he is if he shows up somewhere else in future.
