This morning's musical scavenger hunt sees me off in pursuit of "The Horse with the Dreamy Eyes" from the film "Saratoga". Success may prove elusive, as the only copy I've found so far is going for $95 plus postage on eBay...
Gypsy and I were relaxing and watching random Japanese tv, and came upon an english interview about 'circularism', with an artist pushing a 'lifestyle' of being more like circles.
Host: well, this is excellent, maybe we should 'circularise' the studio?
Artist: well, we can do it now - just hand me a circular saw, I can take care of it easily!
... It turned out to be a 'learn english' tv show skit.
Kyoto is verrrry 'take the bus to XYZ' which is weird because the trains are better, and I am not sure why everyone keeps recommending buses (hotel staff, google maps, other folks)
@RogerBW It was very interesting how Osaka's train stuff was organised - and I think a lot of it is 'we absolutely guarantee this train will be X compartments, every Y minutes' - like, carriage doors are mandated by barriers on the platform, etc.
In Aus, you have no idea if a train is 3 carriages or five, or where it will stop on the platform...
Pondering the parallels between the Christian myth of Adam and Eve approaching a tree with a snake in it and attaining knowledge of good and evil, with the snake and the gained knowledge seen as evil; and the Buddhist myth (new to me) of Mucalinda, meaning the Buddha also sat under a tree with a snake and there also attained enlightenment but here the knowledge so gained is good and the snake is seen as a protector
Could invent some really fun heresies by developing this line of thought further
Now I am infinitely curious about the succubus cafe, but:
A) time
B) money (holy shit that shit wasn't cheap)
C) the sign had no English so that may be a struggle/no-go
