Even as an NYU alum, I've always found this very silly.

It would be a much better program for the university to get every student and staff member and unlimited ride MetroCard/OMNY*.

@foxandcity When I attended VA Tech in 87, our student ID allowed us to use the local Bus routes for free. I agree with you re: NYU transit options.

@steveportigal @kfury I check once in a while to see some of my old follows. My account is locked, I just poke around.

At this point every post by anyone of significance is immediately replied to by a "nudes in bio" account, sometimes with nudes in the actual reply. It is pretty terrible, let alone how the bike/urbanist posts are filled with blue checks being terrible in the replies.

    @wvu @GossiTheDog My experience using various apps is that the apps are worse not better.

    I also don't have time to join all sorts of various forked servers to find one that actually has feature x or y and works.

    One thing that bugs me about bike discourse is how little consideration goes into thinking about disability. I'm no car culture bro, but you can't deny they are an accessibility device. So when I see talk about banning cars from certain areas of certain streets I'm wondering how that's supposed to work if you have mobility issues.

    @geekysteven qt "Certain areas of certain streets" stands out. Do you mean bike lanes? Do you mean pedestrianized streets?

    I don't have a very long response to this because I don't have the time or space. Disability isn't a monolith though and wheelchairs and other mobility devices exist.

    I am working on a blog post to talk about this since it is a common disingenuous complaint used to block any non-automobile infrastructure changes.

    @GossiTheDog I have that Soul tomato too. This is stuff added in the anniversary edition. A lot of it is call out to earlier entries in the series.

    I still haven't explored all the AE content.
