Last week I learned about windshield wiper fluid tablets. You drop one in a gallon of tapwater and a few minutes later you have a gallon of wiper fluid. I swear I don't know why everyone doesn't use these. I bought a pack of 25 tabs (makes 25 gallons) for about the cost of a gallon of wiper fluid and I just put the rest of the tube in the car so I'll have it when I need it. https://amzn.to/3w8ZRDD

A hugely unsung feature in MacOS is the ability to AirPlay your screen to another nearby Mac user's screen. When my wife and I are in the same room and she wants to show me something or have me look something over often it's easiest to just push her screen to mine for a minute. It's super convenient and low-friction.

Oops, technically it's 'Screen Mirroring', not AirPlay. We also do this to mirror onto the living room TV via Apple TV for co-shopping.

A popular Etsy store I love is doing a few shop drops this weekend at random times so I was going to write a shell script to poll the store's rss feed every 30sec and fire off an SMS notification to ifttt when the page changes.

It's been a while since I've written a bash script so I was about to look something up but decided to see if ChatGPT would write it for me. Thirty seconds later I had my script, clearly written with comments and setup notes.

Works like a charm. This future is cool.

@fraying I think this was an expensive experiment but that the idea is sound. Like the Newton was too large and expensive for its time but helped Apple get to the iPhone I think the future will see the Vision as a step toward a much more evolved and successful product.

@fraying Perhaps I am, but I also think both the form factor and the value proposition will evolve a lot.

I mean seriously, who would think people would be okay with spending 8 hours a day staring at screens while sitting in chairs and pressing buttons in front of them when they could be more efficient walking and talking with their bodies?

I’ve been paying attention to the SCOTUS hearing on presidential immunity and forgive me if I’m wrong but the whole discussion seems to be whether it’s better or worse if a president has immunity for ‘official acts’.

The subject of whether the Constitution or a federal law purports to grant that immunity has taken a back seat.

Is SCOTUS just planing to legislate from the bench?
