Yup, that poor guy that proved that vaccines cause autism gets unfairly maligned for his efforts; obviously his methodology was unethical but you can’t argue the findings.
Here is me at Star Trek: The Experience in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Hilton. This was 1997 (spring or summer). I got to go on The Klingon Encounter (which may have been the only ride-type attraction at the time). The line to enter was lined with status of Borg (First Contact had just come out the previous November)....
I wish this author would uno reverse it at the end and add a note to remind readers our own government ‘October 7ths’ many countries all the time and that readers should hug their kids every day in anticipation of an Israel level or near enough response, but obviously this is nowhere near the intent.
A lib I work with who has good politics about Palestine (shocking given his politics on basically everything else) had this to say in regards to the treatment of professors and student protesters....
Reminds me of a time when I had a strange problem and opened a thread asking for help; I eventually managed to solve it via somewhat esoteric methods and then posted ‘nvm fixed it’, only to then, years later encounter the problem again, and when I google that exact problem my post is at the top and the only one regarding this issue too, and I’ve no idea how I fixed it years ago.
Please don’t post stuff like this; it offends Southerners and the children they fathered with their sisters; also the children they fathered with their children.
Actually I think this resembles at least a few families in Alabama.
I’m reminded of something I recall a lady giving a speech once said (for the life of me I can’t remember whether she was a socialist, or basically anything else about her) that (Times?) magazine once ran a poll to see how many people believed Iraq was involved in 9/11 and found that around 70% of respondents believed that yes, Iraq was involved, despite there being absolutely no evidence whatsoever.
Guys running the one platform be like “they’re pirating our show,” other guy hosting a different platform be like “no, in this region it’s us hosting that show so it’s us they’re pirating from,” third guy hosting another platform be like “next month it’s our platform that’ll be hosting it so it’ll be us they’re pirating from”, fourth guy hosting another platform be like “we’re the guys authorized to actually be selling that show in this region at this time, so they’re also pirating from us”, fifth guy also hosting another platform be like “wait, they’re also pirating this show only we’re authorized to stream but we don’t offer our service in that country”
I recall when I found a wikipedia article talking about the oil for food program in Iraq, where the human rights coordinator there quit his post so he could criticize the sanctions on Iraq as a genocide, and his replacement also quitting and saying the same thing; the UN’s response? They wanted to quibble over the term...
I…I…is he actually legitimizing the Palestinian struggle and putting down the British one, or am I just misunderstanding his stance towards British colonialism in Ireland?
Good, I’m sad I’ll never get to see an awesome fallout style future, but at least these based Chads are making me feel like we’re in a future that’s lost the benefits of modern science! Them and the people forgoing vaccines are the closest I’ll get to fallout!
Now this is going to sound like a hot take, but have people ever considered that the existing homeless population is itself a real life ongoing case study/experiment in this not being possible unless you’re like especially lucky? Or the fact that the vast majority of youtubers do not make a million dollars even over several years despite now having several years of experience in youtubing?
It’s not like homeless people are choosing to stay homeless because they’re secretly practicing streetmaxxing or being on that hated-by-bougie-society grindset, they’re legit unable to turn things around; this isn’t a TV show where a homeless person makes the choice to give up drugs, then turns his life around and comes back to that lady who was always supportive of him dressed in a suit now that he’s committed himself to turning his life around.
Good; I keep seeing articles that try to explain the DPRK’s circumvention of sanctions as a bad thing when it’s the sanctions that should be considered criminal.
I read a criticism of ‘come and see’ that I’d never considered, that it was quite liberal. They pointed out how (in the movie) the partisans struggled internally with flat out killing the nazis, and how Flyora while shooting at a picture (hallucination?) of Hitler kept seeing him get younger and younger until he was staring at Baby Hitler and he couldn’t pull the trigger.
The poster was saying that it’s okay to just flat out kill literal nazis and it shouldn’t be causing any internal struggle as they’re literally wiping you out, and picturing Hitler as a baby is stupid as you can’t time travel and he’s not a baby while he’s conducting a genocide.
Huh…now I don’t feel so good about putting up a sign next to the aquarium with the word ‘lunch’ on it, or pointing to the inhabitants and then the sign and then my belly.
