FlavorPacket,

I highly recommend NewsBlur if you don’t want to host your own.

Tortilla help please

So I have been trying to make my own tortillas. I’ll found a recipe online that was flour, water, oil, and salt that seemed decent but wasn’t very good. I essentially made tortilla shaped crackers. I’m high altitude, but with nothing rising I’m not sure that matters? Anyone have a good recipe they can share? I’m kinda...

FlavorPacket,

This looks like a good recipe. Lots of great comments that I’m going to try.

Thanks for the reply!

FlavorPacket,

I think I just used cold water, so that might be an issue. I also didn’t cover the dough while it rested so I’m sure it dried out a bit. Thanks for the tip.

FlavorPacket,

I think both of these might be problems. I definitely didn’t cover the dough and the ones I cooked at a higher heat for a shorter time did come out slightly better.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll be sure to post again if I get anything worthy. 😁

FlavorPacket,

Another vote for the vert. The mx verticals is my favorite mouse I’ve ever moused with.

FlavorPacket,

NewsBlur is awesome. Great web interface, native apps for mobile, super customizable, and the developer is a great dude. I’ve been using it for a few years now since I got tired of running my own ttrss instance.

FlavorPacket,

Picked up graveyard keeper on sale for $4 and I’m addicted. Plays a bit like Stardew Valley but with a dark edge. Great game overall.

FlavorPacket,

Starship Troopers. The book is great, but the movie is like if someone wrote a short summary of the cliffs notes of the book. I guess they both had bugs.

FlavorPacket,

Same. I outfitted a medium sized business with brother laser printers when I was the IT monkey and had very few issues. Bought a multifunction brother laser for home a few years back and it was the best decision ever. Brother lasers are today what HP laserjets we’re back in the 90’s.

FlavorPacket,

I’m about half way through The Obelisk Gate which is the second book of the broken earth series by N.K. Jemisin. I’m really enjoying it.

FlavorPacket,

I can see that, but I think the dramatic plot points and twists are a good payoff for the slower parts of the story. At least in the first book I got a little bored with all of the traveling, but when they finally get where they are going it picks up significantly.

I’m loving this thread. Lots of ideas for my next reads!

What are your favorite split-screen co-op PC games?

My wife and I like to play games together, but PC devs often skip couch co-op options. For example, I bought Halo Master Chief Collection because I know Halo co-op is legendary and I never really played Halo growing up, nor did she. But the PC version specifically doesn’t have split screen co-op where the console version does....

FlavorPacket,

Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is SO good.

Which obscure consoles have you played on?

When I was a kid my family had a TI-99/4A. The 99 series was Texas Instruments’ only real foray into the PC and video game market, and it failed to be competitive with Commodore, Atari, and Amiga. Most games were booted from cartridges. My favorites were Hunt the Wumpus, a sort of early survival-horror with a turn-based grid...

FlavorPacket,

My cousins had a ColecoVision that I used to play mousetrap and donkey kong on. The controllers were wonky, but it was a ton of fun.

FlavorPacket,

Ice Hockey was SO good! I still fire that one up from time to time.
