Thankfully, it was not the only place in town to get a jigsaw puzzle, but it was the only Minnesota-themed gift shop to buy jigsaw puzzles. (This is not relevant.)
Because apparently whoever designs jigsaw puzzles to sell in Minnesota gift shops is an asshole.
I get people not wanting to look at the box to make sure the puzzle is right, but this is just shitty and it adds nothing to the jigsaw puzzle experience apart from unnecessary frustration.
I also think that’s the gimmick. But it’s a terrible gimmick. Especially when it’s the only kind of puzzle you sell. I’m not taking a Minnesota-themed jigsaw puzzle souvenir with me. And I greatly enjoy jigsaw puzzles and frequently get them as souvenirs.
I guess YMMV with this because this really annoyed me and I just don’t see “why aren’t I finding the piece with the bird on it even when there’s only 100 pieces left?!” for 20 minutes as something fun.
But at the very least, offer some normal puzzles too!
Depending on the puzzle, I might look at the box or I might not. The latter is a bigger challenge can be more fun.
However, I have never wanted to look at the box but not be sure if what I’m seeing on the box is in the puzzle. Someone else said they enjoyed it, but that just sounds maddening to me.
I appreciate the suggestion! I don’t know if I want to drive an hour because just walking around the mall here was exhausting due to how much stress I’m under, but if I’m here long enough- and we have no idea how long we’ll be here- it’s something to look into.
It’s more ‘if we just sit on the internet all Sunday and don’t talk to each other, that would probably not be a healthy relationship’ thing, If I ran out of internet, there’s a very well-stocked bookshelf.
My initial view: “Who the fuck cares about some basketball coach?”
Then I decided to read the article anyway just to see what the fuss is about.
It focuses on her relationships with many former players, especially with those who openly identified as gay—and a reported decade-long feud with former Baylor basketball star Brittney Griner.
I hear so many good things about New Orleans, but I don’t know if I ever actually want to go to Louisiana even though I don’t think I’d end up in prison there. I don’t want to give them tax dollars.
In other words, you can’t give a reason for Sinema and Manchin to support Biden if he did this or name two Republicans.
Because as far as I can tell, the ‘immense opportunity’ would also be there to say no to every single judge and not allow Biden to increase the size of the Supreme Court. Which they would totally do since even plenty of Democrats would be against it.
Why you think this is a politically winning issue I don’t know. If it were, it would have been done already by other presidents. Do you think Clinton would have had a court with Thomas, Scalia and all the other Republican appointees? Do you think Clinton would have dealt with Rehnquist as chief justice if he didn’t have to?
Even FDR had the Supreme Court working against him. Why didn’t he expand the court so all of his New Deal programs would pass? Do you think maybe it’s because it is not something the Senate would ever agree to or do you think FDR was just less popular than Biden?
I’m not really talking about his personal feelings on the matter, which aren’t really as relevant right now as what he thinks will get him re-elected. So far, he seems to think lip service toward the Palestinian cause plus the maritime-based food distribution while militarily supporting Israel is enough for people supporting Palestine to support him and not going too far to upset the pro-Israel people. Like I said, I don’t think he’s doing the balancing act well.
So what would the point of Biden trying be exactly? Because it sounds purely performative and the Senate already wastes way too much time on performative bullshit.
He could literally do nothing about the Dobbs decision. It was entirely out of his hands. The executive branch does not control the judicial branch. That’s the whole point of the separation of powers.
It could be pretty much any city in the UK too. Lots of homeless and lots of assholes who don’t pick up after their dogs. London has over 10,000 people living on the streets.
I’ve seen people where they have a perfectly healthy child, and they go for the vaccinations, and a month later the child is no longer healthy,” he said on Fox in 2012. “It happened to somebody that worked for me recently. I mean, they had this beautiful child, not a problem in the world. And all of a sudden, they go in, they get this monster shot. You ever see the size of it? It’s like they’re pumping in—you know, it’s terrible, the amount. And they pump this into this little body. And then all of the sudden, the child is different a month later. And I strongly believe that’s it.
Tons of episodes on YouTube too. And the whole Comedy Central/Sci-Fi series on the Internet Archive (I don’t think the Netflix or Kickstarter seasons are though).
"Scrabble: The Presidential Edition." I saw this game in Goodwill today. It's like the Homer Simpson car of board games. (boardgamegeek.com)
Here is how the BoardGameGeek link above explains it how it is different from regular Scrabble:...
