By “unintended,” he means that he did not intend for people to realize it was a precision strike.

Looking forward to tomorrow when the IDF claims that the World Central Kitchen staff were Hamas terrorists.

Who knew that every single person inside Gaza’s borders was a Hamas terrorist?

I was going to ask which one of these people is the biggest idiot and then I realized the answer was yes.

Officials from the southern African country already protested a potential U.K. ban on safari hunters importing trophies, warning in March they would send 10,000 elephants to Hyde Park in London.

So who’s paying to ship these 30,000 elephants to Europe?

Because I imagine shipping one elephant would be pretty expensive and I don’t think Botswana is a very wealthy country…

“Hannibal? Is this Rome?”

“Well I think it… it looks… is it? Ah, fuck it. We’re invading anyway.”

So many bigots suffer from perpetual victimhood.

She sends legal threats to people who write books about child wizards going to wizard school.

She wants to invent news laws to push on others and make herself a martyr against one that already exists.

This “slippery slope” of yours has not been a problem in the many countries that have adopted it.

Not even in Brazil under Bolsonaro.

I personally feel like it’s every skinhead assole’s right to say racist awful shit. I also feel like if you’re going to exercise that right with reckless abandon, you’re gonna get fucked up by some people who don’t take kindly.

Is that what happened in 1930s Germany or the 1950s U.S. South?

Racism is an implicit call to violence. Suggesting that it can also be solved by violence is not borne out by history.

that change has to come naturally from the bottom up, not artificially from the top down

Cool, when is that change going to happen? Because from what I’ve seen, there’s still a vast amount of racism in this world.

FlyingSquid,
@FlyingSquid@lemmy.world avatar

You didn’t answer my question.

You said change has to come naturally from the bottom up in order to stop bigoted attacks. Bigotry has been around for a very long time.

So… when is that natural change going to happen? Are we talking centuries?

Sounds like a reason to make the law better, not throw it out.

Not knowing is not as bad as not caring though.

I’m staying with my elderly mother at an AirBnB right now. Yesterday I told her about a news article I was reading that said Mars was habitable for far longer than we thought, meaning there was a much greater chance of life developing there. She was totally uninterested. Whether or not Earth is the only planet with life on it is one of the most important questions in human history we still can’t answer and she didn’t care.

In other words, you can’t.

My daughter had whatever they call home ec now (consumer science?) last year when she was in sixth grade. They baked cookies.

And that was about all I did in home ec back in the late 80s too. That and sew a stuffed animal dog.

So I don’t know that home ec is actually all that worth it. Not the way it’s been done for decades, anyway.

Industrial arts was the same way. He had us make wooden tulips after telling a bunch of horror stories about how the power tools would maim you, so I refused to use them. And had I used them, I know now as someone who has used them since that cutting tulip pieces out of a piece of wood with a jigsaw is not much of a learning experience.

If there were ever anything worth risking death over, it would be to hang out at a place with a shark’s head biting a surfboard.

Also, that was like all we had to do back in the 80s when cartoons weren’t on.

If hot was the same as fresh, you wouldn’t be able to heat up day-old Chinese takeout.

They sell food thickener at Walmart. I know because I saw it there yesterday.

So they won’t get bigger, but they can get thicker.

No, sorry about the misunderstanding. The car before the Prius died. I replaced it with the Prius. It’s doing fine.

“Good quality” is actually another reason to legalize all drugs. To stop them from being tainted.

Also insider trading, but mostly the first thing. Probably.
