Hoboken, New Jersey, recently marked seven consecutive years without a traffic death. Officials there credit their decision to take away some street parking, a change that increases visibility for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians.
Droidify has never ever even suggested me an update in the background. Like ever. The option is enabled in the settings. I always have to launch it manually and refresh to see new updates idk. FDroid app on the other hand works flawlessly, including the newest one.
Linux needs to grow. Stop telling people it’s ‘tech-y’ or acting like you’re more advanced for using it, you are scaring away people. Linux Mint can be used by a senile person perfectly....
Yeah dev home is pretty much useless at this point.
Back when it just launched, they marketed it as it would introduce cool stuff to developers like, what I’m waiting for the most, git repositories Explorer integration. But all we have is a constantly crashing app and two extra widgets for the widget panel.
Dev drives are also cool but they’re the part of Windows anyway, no dev home needed.
Instead of io stuff I just use it as a current snapshot of my dev stuff including repos. Super-easy and super-fast to sync to my other devices just as a vhdx file over any wifi network. Yeah it’s not dev drive specific feature but still, I started doing so because of dev drive
Switched phones and upgraded Android OS. Same Google account, released purchase from old phone, uninstalled from old phone. Still no luck. It’s been a couple of weeks. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!...
It depends. If you switch between different branches a lot, Library just grows to infinite sizes due to storing everything from each branch that is unique to those branches. I once had to clear about 600 gigs of library lol.
I understand the problem with server overloading and the problems with hosting big database etc. But can’t we host short , compressed videos with just good enough quality . Like some of the high quality gifs on lemmy is much ,much bigger than the kind of videos i described . Or am i missing something ? I do understand the...
It usually depends on a DC, its internal policies and all that. I’ve interacted both with DCs providing temporary access to racks on request so you could do stuff yourself, and DCs sending their own employees literally for anything, leaving you with zero access to the racks even if you are on site. In both cases I’ve never seen a scenario where making changes or maintenance is extra, on the contrary: I’ve seen tons of dudes walking with USB drives every single day for the favorite of mine “the user requested a custom iso boot” throughout the entire building.
Pretty much all you have to do is get to know their policy and that’s it.
You shouldn’t expect better accuracy from any automatic/mechanical watch. If you want much higher precision, you better aim for quartz watch, but most watch enthusiasts may find them “cheap” and “soulless”, which is definitely subjective. I love automatic watch for smooth second hand movement and absence of battery to replace.
Chrono certified means it has been tested within a certain range of temperatures without exceeding certain thresholds of positive or negative drift per day. It’s only certification anyway, many uncertified watches may give same results.

If I owned a server co-located in a (far away) data center, who would be responsible for swapping out dead hard drives?
Would I have to drive there myself or could I pay an on-site tech to do it for a courtesy fee? Does it depend on the company?
Why does everyone hate Cloudflare?
They get shit on a lot here. Why? What do they do and how is that different from other companies that offer similar services?...
