The early visual development on @RealGDT’s WIZARDS: TALES OF ARCADIA was hugely inspirational to us on what this series could be.

The mix of modern and medieval, befitting immortal magic users who lived through it all, was a fun sandbox to play in.

Thrilled I can finally share…

The delightfully spooky horror-comedy I co-wrote with my friend Niki Lopez, THE OTHER SIDE, is premiering at the LA Latino International Film Festival.

If you’re attending, be sure to check it out along with so many other awesome films!

There is a fine line, almost ineffable, between traditional “action” writng and what I would call the “adventure” genre.

Action writing tends to be terse, bombastic, and often grim.

Adventure has a certain vivacity to it. An implicit heightened reality, where danger is joy.

Live premiere chat of my episode of the comedy podcast @yestomtoday, wherein we discuss BICENTENNIAL MAN, starts now!

We poke gentle fun at this admittedly strange and heartfelt Asimov adaptation, only because we love it so. https://youtu.be/Ip63nr2PbYk

Congratulations to @carlos_cisco on co-writing tonight’s episode of !

He privately confirmed for me that Breen are distant cousins of mellanoid slime worms. So that’s beta canon.

@nikatjef Glad you’re enjoying it — I think you’ll really like where it goes and how the crew grows into it.

As a Gen 1 TRANSFORMERS fan, I was lucky enough to help out with this film — it’s got action, adventure, darkness, humor and metric tons of heart.

A prequel set before they become the heroes you know— if you grew up with them like I did, I think you’ll love it.

Sometimes the best stories need time to set up.

Many great novels don’t kick into high gear until at least page 50.

Some of the best television I’ve ever seen didn’t hit its stride until the second season.

Incredible films are built upon a third act.

Often, patience pays off. W

If animated Star Trek is something you love and want to support, watching on Netflix is a great thing to do right now.

I think there’s little consensus on what The Federation’s government is in Star Trek compared to modern day because it’s largely post-scarcity.

People work on what they feel like for self-fulfillment. You can join and leave Starfleet freely. Food materializes from hydrogen.

There are few things that inspire me as much as the wild imaginations of young people.

They push boundaries, question everything, then discover deeper truths about the mad world they were brought into.

And, perhaps, appreciate the beauty of the overlooked.

Keep dreaming.

In season 1 finale for , the main threat is that a virus will turn starfleet ships against each other by hijacking their systems and locking them out of their command codes. The urgency of the show acts as if within a matter of hours, it will destroy the Federation, but I struggle to believe the virus' advance could outpace one non-Starfleet subspace message to which would be all they'd need to warn the rest of the fleet and buy time for an anti-virus program

GoodAaron,
@GoodAaron@mastodon.social avatar

@forgottrek It’s adaptive tech from 52 years in the future, specifically designed to co-opt and destroy Starfleet ships— not quite the same as a run of the mill virus.

@forgottrek Far be it from me to ever stop someone from head canoning! I love it, really. Just thought I’d share another perspective.
