So I knew Kiribati used to be big in phosphates (it isn't anymore apparently so that isn't the answer) thus this was a game played more with a map then with economic knowledge. @Neblib #Tradle#718 4/6

@jenbanim Sadly I had to dramically reduce beans consumption from around 1 kilo a week to almost nothing this year. Hopefully next year I can up it again. I miss garbonzo, and black beans with cheese.
@jenbanim There is never really a reason to use wax paper instead of parchment paper. You might save a bit of money but it isn't worth the risk and the added complexity.
@jenbanim This might be incredibly trivial in which case I would appreciate you doing this or really annoying it which case don't bother but could you fix it so that neoliber.al/dt has a favicon from neoliber.al rather than the same one as mastodon.
@jenbanim Wait like SVG the image format? I am confused. Do you mean make the SVG in Javascript or are you embending executable code in an image format? Should I be blocking all svgs in emails?
@archliberal I can oppose the death penalty but I don't think it is entirely immoral in principle since I think in certain economic circumstances like say 150 years ago and everything earlier it would be acceptable. Life in prison is a luxury option.
@archliberal The commitees in the congress are way stronger than commitees in parlimentary systems. The lack of ministers means they really aren't comparable though.
@jenbanim It took me longer than I care to admit but it was fun. I like the little details like the light and smoke from the exhaust, the animation for charging shots/lasers. If I want anything it would maybe be health so the smallest collision doesn't kill you but that may be because I died a lot.
@jenbanim I did notice that sometimes the ball getting hit by the laser balls didn't matter sometimes, a grace period makes sense.
I did a much quicker replay a few minutes ago and I think the physics are solid. Not sure if it is intentional but I accidently released the ball by hitting z again and when released that ball is immune. I found that tossing the ball in lvl 3 was a bit easier from one side of the sentries to the other or just dropping it to restore better control of momentum.
@jenbanim I think if I had suggestion on that make tossing a feature. Say a permanent laser wall that is disabled when a rock hits it. Though as a pratical matter you might want to make slightly lighter rocks
@jenbanim not sure if it worse but seeing how much easier level 3 is when you can drop the ball I wish I could do it that said, if I didn't know I wouldn't miss it. I like the breaking apart animation and the chunks. I tested smashing stuff with the ball/chunks and they didn't do damage to the structures (turrents) which given that the remants can kill you would be satifying.
It was really smart having the ball spawn in above and fall
@jenbanim From an actual physics standpoint it probably should break but having it indestructible you would open more options in terms of tricks. Perhaps make certain terrain "bouncy"? The reason it was a "trick" is that you can go much more quickly without losing control when the ball is spinning around because you can just purge and reset.
That said being able to drop it even if it breaks just sort of makes sense given you already control the tractor beam and if there is turret breaking ...
Many people talk about the lack of third spaces and that is a thing but I think a bigger problem is not the monetary cost has increased because it probably hasn't that much in wage adjusted terms but the opportunity cost has spiked in SR because staying at home or just not talking with people at third space is way more appeal with the internet.
We need to force people to be together and interdict local wireless networks. We could also try negative direct costs like giving communities free food
@Neblib The reason I stress food is that seems like the only time nowadays people are somewhat willing to talk with strangers for an extended period. Though even then that is getting less true especially with those fancy earbuds.
