I’ve heard a few different comparisons between her and the AI in question and, personally, the AI sounds almost exactly like Siri and not really like Johansson other than being a female voice.
Which doesn’t really change the case against the company, just who the victim is. Because Siri is also based on a real actress. Who didn’t even agree to the most of the shit her voice was used for with Siri, either. This new AI voice seems, to me, to be built off Siri’s voice so they’re essentially still using a real person’s likeness without permission.
I really miss having Liftoff work because it has been the only app I’ve used on android that actually had a functioning search feature that let you search individual posts, community names, instances, or users.
Based on the rumors, I find it funny they are calling it “lite” or “S” (which usually means “small”) when it’s supposedly a bit bulkier than than 3. The leaked specs make it seem like it’s just a Quest 2 except for having the same CPU as the 3. Bulkier lenses, smaller resolution, same price as the 2. Is the CPU really that much better that it would be worth getting over a Quest 2 (which they probably will stop selling)?
Of course those are just “leaks” and rumors, so maybe it’s not actually that bad. 🤷🏻♂️

I am not only chronically online, I live in California, and I work at McDonald’s; this is also the first I’ve heard about this. If it had any real traction, I think my manager would have probably reassured everyone that isn’t happening, since she’s cool like that.
Playstation players are upset by the lack of exclusives. There are like 4 or 5 games that are only on the PS5 and one of them is Astro’s Playroom; a tech demo platformer that comes with the system to show off everything it and the new controller can do. There is nary a reason to move from PS4 to PS5 even if you’re a hardcore Playstation fan.
In mine, you will hear the first 2 seconds of a hundred songs before I stop on something I wanna hear. It might be Linkin Park. It might be Ween. It might even be a random video game song. Just depends on what I’m feeling ATM.
Article claims they are human brain organoids, doesn’t say where the source of them is. Are these grown, like most other neural computing systems, or are they actually taking matter from a human brain?
