@samuel hej finns det någon i din kooperativ som gör dataunderhåll? Jag vill hitta någon som kan skruva isär min bärbara och blåsa ut dammen åt mig för några hundralappar.
This suggests to me that recognition of Palestine is 'sticky'. That is, it comes with so many benefits that even if a left-wing government does it, the country is unlikely to reverse the decision even under a right-wing government.
It looks likely Sunak will call an election in about an hour. Just a reminder, Brits, that in 1993 Canada had an election where the Conservatives went from government down to just two seats. I'm just saying. Are you going to let the Canucks hold the record forever? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1993_Canadian_federal_election
In other Sweden-UK history news. In 1940 the Brits seized some Swedish warships and promised to return them (eventually) as long as Sweden transferred American aircraft contracts to them.
@PTM thank you! Interesting that so much of that article lacks citations. I have another document from July 8 that implies the ships had already been handed back. And Sweden was complaining of damage done, even before Wikipedia reported date of return, July 10.
I downloaded the last will and testament of a Swedish ship's carpenter in London, 1840, but it's in such elaborate copperplate I can barely read any of it.
I'm guessing this is part of the way legal scribes maintained their position back then, by having a style that made the document look extra fancy and official.
It's ironic and depressing how all the other Swedish parties have policy points or slogans on their EU parliament posters, while the Social Democrats just say, "yeah...vote for us because of... vibes".
@Loukas Fair point! But that rhetorical weakness, the whole "don't scare the horses" thing, is plausibly a legacy of the long drift toward the managerial center.
@Loukas "Oldest Swedish church in the UK" is one of those superlatives that does beg some questions.
It's a bit like saying "I'm the highest ranking Jew at Pittsburg State University, Kansas"...
