If checking their email a couple of times per year is too high a requirement, I would not recommend the time and effort necessary to maintain a mail server. Even people who enjoy self-hosting often do not want to host a mail server.
I would like to have a central Calendar that I could sync everything to it, from my email calendars and my to do list, is there something like that selfhosted or not, that is FOSS?
I use Radicale for my calendars, reminders, and contacts precisely because of how minimal it is. It has been very reliable for me and is very easy to back up and restore since it is just files.
I used to use Protonmail, however the verification steps become tedious when creating unique emails for sign ups. I’ve switched to Tutanota despite it contravening their one account policy. What do you all use for one off emails (for sign ups etc )? Or do you prefer one of those 10 minute email sites?
If Google would have said upfront that all purchases would be refunded when Stadia shuts down, it likely would have increased confidence enough that people would actually use it.
This is disappointing as someone who does not want everything centralized under one company. I have tried to diversify the services I use, but this is the second one that Proton has acquired.
SimpleLogin development has essentially been stalled since they were acquired by Proton as resources were used to develop Pass instead. I have a feeling that Standard Notes will be treated similarly.
Hi guys! Is there any smart gallery app that can help tag/search the gallery pictures through automatically created tags, such as objects/things recognized in the pictures, locations etc? While it would be great to see official support, the Heroic Games Launcher is a very good way to play GOG (as well as Epic and Amazon Prime) games on Linux.
I have a bookstack instance self-hosted and I quick like the program and workflow. I like having ‘books’ of information to separate/organize my information. It feels very much like folder heirarchy to me, and while that has its issues, I prefer it. Being able to add tags to pages helps alleviate some of those issues and...
DokuWiki. Everything is a text file that can just be copied to a web server. It doesn’t even require a database. And since all the wiki pages are plaintext markdown files, they can still be easily accessed and read even when the server is down.
Telegram still requires a phone number to sign up, but they have had usernames that can be used to contact people without needing their phone number. Signal is only now finally rolling out usernames.

No, KDE does not have their own virtualization gui. Boxes can still be used on KDE as well though. If you really want nothing to do with Gnome, then virt-manager will be your best option.
