Mostly it’s Instagram and YouTube. I expect see ads in both of those apps, but not the same ad over and over again for months and months

I pretty much only watch YouTube on my TV lately, so there’s not much I can do there. Instagram isn’t really worth any more effort than just opening the app. Again, I don’t actually mind the ads that much generally since it means I’m not paying to use the apps, it’s just that these Temu ads are kinda taking over and they are terrible

Also seems like they’re taking a pretty narrow view of what “god” means… A belief that some unknowable force, call it “god” if you like, may have created the universe is not the same thing as believing in a man made religion. It just means there’s more to learn that science hasn’t explained yet

You mean despite the decline in users, the rapid and ongoing devaluation of it’s impending IPO, and the very vocal dissatisfaction of those who have for some reason remained loyal Reddit continues to fan the flames of the pestilent dumpster fire that it’s become?

What a surprise! 😮

Reddit is dying. I give it another 6 months before it basically just becomes a shitty clone of Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, or some nauseating combination of the three that nobody asked for. Do yourself a favor and just let it die quietly so we can all move on.

At this point if someone starts talking about how “woke” a game, tv show, movie, or book is I assume they either have no real opinion of their own, or are pushing their own agenda

Just play the fucking game. If you like it great, if you don’t then just move on, or at least write a real review about why it’s actually a bad game

The last really great sci-fi books I read were the Otherland series by Tad Williams. It’s about a virtual reality world and how it’s used by the the the rich elite to find immortality, but also by others to find a kind of enlightenment. There are a lot of great characters who all have depth and substance, the story does a great job comparing virtual reality with religion, and it even predicted Netflix way back in 1996 lol (they just spell it differently)

It’s 4 pretty dense books, but once I got started I couldn’t put them down

I believe that is from the sprinkler that was going off when I took the picture. He is correct that I did use the HDR tool on my phone though. I didn’t realize this community was only for professional photographers…

I have not personally used a phone with a folding screen, but I work in customer service and I know our tech team has replaced a lot of them where the screen gets a crease in the middle or comes unlamented.

Honestly though the foldables seem kind of pointless to me. It gives a slightly larger screen that’s really of no use unless your phone is the only thing you use to watch movies/game on. It’s really more of a status symbol than anything else.

I’m sure someone will eventually come up with a more useful and innovative way of using foldable screen technology, but this is not it.
