I've been seeing a lot of posts about people being stuck between server (lemmy 0.18) and client (Jerboa 0.0.33—35) versions (not installed from IzzyOnDroid and logged in) with Jerboa crashing. Here's a way to avoid that issue while still being able to log in and browse both Lemmy 0.18 or older instances....
I went to switzerland last summer and lemme tell you, these guys love having cows absolutely ruin their country.
Only in switzerland will you be able to go on a 8 hour hike to a gorgeous mountain lake, only to find cows shitting all over the rivers and meadows, to the point you need to boil water for 5 minutes before it is safe to drink.
I wanted to get a pulse check on how new members are finding the general experience/website. Is it more confusing than Reddit or are you finding the instance system a better way of doing things as it can give you more freedom of where you choose to create an account?...
Very happy and reminds me of the old pre-digg Reddit days! My main concerns are
If I pick a popular server it will go down due to performance issues, but if I get a smaller one it may go offline because it's just a small hobby project. I don't want to lose my account.
I'm worried about communities duplicating on other instances and me not being able to ask questions to the same pool of people with xposting
Regarding point three: I want to be able to migrate my profile to another instance if my current instance has performance issues or admins going rogue.
I don't think the original was planned to have a sequel? Just prepare for this one very much being the setup for a next movie. It was really good though!
Yeah I agree they sort of built a HUGE world with lots of story lines, but I have a feeling that combined with the next part it will be really awesome!
I agree but also, gates are open wide if you ask me. I'm missing some communities here and it's going to be a long time before there are enough users to make it a worthy replacement for Reddit.
Honestly this was so amazing and refreshing. I loved the animation style of spot, and how he got gradually more creepy.
I did not know that it would have a sequel and such an open ending, so I did let out an audible 'This really pisses me off' in the cinema when it cut to black at the end.
Still love it, but wish someone gave me the heads up.
