The Elevator

Still kind of wild how I watched a video about three.js and just decided to make this thing.

Cantonese, English and Mandarin, ordered by confidence.

I sometimes feel special for being a Hongkonger who speaks Cantonese and writes Traditional Chinese, as they are not very common.

I feel that extremely when people think that I’m an American and accuse me of thinking “dollar” is the only currency unit in the world. (Sorry for the rant)

Of course it’s wetdry.world. I love this instance.

Except the 2 dollar coin isn’t round

EDIT: Getting downvoted for no reason because people think I’m assuming everyone is US. No. There are other places in the world that uses “dollar” as a unit of currency. I live in Hong Kong, and we use Hong Kong Dollars (HKD), and our 2 dollar coins are flower-shaped.

*everyone at where you are

Alright I need someone to explain to me what I’ve said wrong

I live in Hong Kong. Our currency is called Hong Kong Dollar (HKD). And our 2 dollar coins are flower-shaped.

Read the edit. I feel the opposite

No. It’s just there’s another place using “dollars”

Honestly I don’t even know why I’m still here. This is another great example of my poor understanding of English and people.

I just wanted to share our unique 2 dollar coin design…

For everyone who don’t know, this is the complicated version of Chinese numbers. In modern days, they are mostly used in writing cheques, because these characters are not as easily modified as the simple version.

NorthWestWind,
@NorthWestWind@lemmy.world avatar

Even as a Hongkonger myself, I have no idea. We just see these characters as ancient numbers.

Also, if you write 柒 in an informal context, it is considered offensive.

But we can only get 10% of power from the sun and that power is also spread across half the globe, half the time.
