Stray really disappointed me. I want a real cat game.

Just an open world survival game, only you’re a cat, dealing with regular cat problems. You have to hunt, avoid larger animals, compete with other cats, figure out which humans are dangerous and which will give you treats, judiciously spray things to maintain your territory, maybe mate and reproduce (your sex and fertility...

OMG_its_mustard,

The cat flopping over the first time he wears the backpack was spot on

How much of your life have you degoogled? (beehaw.org)

We're reaching the end of an era wherein billions of dollars of investor money was shovelled into tech startups to build large user-bases, and now those companies (now monoliths) are beginning to constrict their user-bases and squeeze for every single penny they can possibly extract. Fair or not....

OMG_its_mustard,

For your keyboard, have you tried openboard? You can switch between languages with the space bar.

OMG_its_mustard,

I got a quarter-sized ulcer on my ankle as a kid that was left untreated for a few weeks. When I finally went to the doctor’s, she had to scrub my wound clean before being able to treat it. It felt like she was scraping my soul off with barbed wire. That really sucked.

OMG_its_mustard,

I’m still bitter that they killed Inbox. It was superior to Gmail in every way.

OMG_its_mustard,

All I can think of is that OP is going to some kind of comic-con and has intricate body paint/an outfit that is so inconvenient to take on and off that they'd rather minimize their food and drinks for 3 days.

OMG_its_mustard,

The machine may be cheap but keep in mind the cost of those pods. If you're on a student budget, I'd recommend buying some sort of coffee pot, whichever fits your preferences. Either an Italian espresso maker, or a French press, or an aeropress. Those are pretty cheap and can all be used with regular coffee, which will be way more budget friendly in the long run.

OMG_its_mustard,

"To shreds, you say?"

For me, there's no reason to leave anything useful in that train wreck of a website. No way will I help them cater to advertisers with my own data, now that they made it clear they don't care about anything else.

I just finished this temari ball (lemmy.fmhy.ml)

I was given a big box of leftover embroidery thread and I have been using it learning to make temari balls. They are made by wrapping yarn and then thinner and thinner thread around a core until it forms a ball, dividing the ball and marking it with thread and finally stitching geometric designs over the markings. I am still...

OMG_its_mustard,

They are! They're pretty heavy with all the layers and they're super satisfying to toss in your palm.

OMG_its_mustard,

I would say the initial wrapping usually takes me an evening, so 2-3 hours. Then the marking may take 1-2 hours depending on the type. And the embroidery can vary a lot depending on the design. It can take 2 hours, it can take 10.

But the process is very satisfying. You can see your progress and the geometry of it all is really fun to observe and build upon.

OMG_its_mustard,

I like to follow written instructions so I would recommend finding books on places like archive.org to get started.

I haven't used video instructions, but I assume YouTube has a ton of them.
