AM radio law opposed by tech and auto industries is close to passing | Ars Technica (arstechnica.com)

A controversial bill that would require all new cars to be fitted with AM radios looks set to become a law in the near future. Yesterday, Senator Edward Markey (D-Mass) revealed that the “AM Radio for Every Vehicle Act” now has the support of 60 US Senators, as well as 246 co-sponsors in the House of Representatives, making...

  • RatsOffToYa,

I stole it from Tom Peters

    RatsOffToYa,

Not sure what’s funnier. your first comment or the comment explaining it to someone who obviously not part of a turbo team

    RatsOffToYa,

Look until you’re part of the turbo team… WALK SLOWLY

    RatsOffToYa,

    Damn,

    I’ve missed hog talk.

    RatsOffToYa,

Reddit will never crank this hog again! Lemmy’s the only place for proper cranking. Arooooooooo

    RatsOffToYa,

Could you try addkng “-serial stdio” and see if any info comes out on the console?

    RatsOffToYa,

You could also try debugging with gdb. qemu-project.gitlab.io/qemu/system/gdb.html

This may me way more technical than you wish to dive into, but it also might shed some light on where things are stuck.

    RatsOffToYa,

Thanks for posting the definitions. I just got the star Trek Blu-ray and I’m excited to see all mistakes for myself!

    RatsOffToYa,

This might sound crazy, but when the kids are asleep I hold the microwave door button in as I shut it. It’s pretty darn quiet

    RatsOffToYa,

Well because I’ve wrecked my sleep schedule and need a pick me up to finish the days chores I’m usually microwaving leftover coffee. I need help haha

    RatsOffToYa,

“We’re trying to reach you about your cars extended warranty”

[Resolved] Debian 12: trying to auto-mount a NTFS-formatted hard drive by making an entry in fstab. Getting the error "mount: /etc/fstab: parse error at line 18 -- ignored"

Here’s the entry in the fstab file for mounting my hard drive. I have bolded the name of the hard drive (that’s what it shows up as on the dock when it isn’t mounted):...

    RatsOffToYa,

Is it literally named new volume? If so perhaps the space is throwing things off. Try quoting the whole path perhaps?

    RatsOffToYa,

Quick update. I had been q-tipping them off for 2 weeks now. Every day it looked like 5 new adults would show up. I had sphagnum moss as a substrate and perhaps that was acting as an aphids hotel?

Well last night my bottle of cold pressed neem oil came (pre-diluted). I put some in a tiny spray bottle and hit it with about 10 sprays. After 20 minutes about 30 aphids climbed to the highest leaves and we’re dancing around. I wet a q-tip with neem oil and got off as many as I could.

Today I didn’t see a single aphid. Time will tell if got them all, if I’ve done any lasting damage with the neem oil, or if the plant recovers. But I’m hopeful.

Side note: the leaves look so shiny and nice looking. A nice side effect of the neem oil.

What are some popular applications that use C?

Hey, so I’ve been searching the web for a while for some popular applications that use C. All that I can find so far is, Git, Vim, Linux, and Unix. I also know the Windows kernel uses it a little bit, but that’s it. Does anyone know some popular apps that use C? Doesn’t have to be programming related, just an actual app...

    RatsOffToYa,

Sqlite3 is written in C and it’s used everywhere!

    RatsOffToYa,

    Dear Stamets,

    Get better.

Sincerely, Some guy who laughs at all the content you post.

Non-root user that (suddenly) has elevated privileges in a specific command (only). [Have I been hacked?]

Title. Long, short story: creating or editing files with nano as my non-root user gives (the file) elevated privileges, like I have ran it w/ sudo or as root. And the (only) “security hole” that I can think of is a nextdns docker container running as root. That aside, its very “overkill” security-wise (cap_drop=ALL,...

    RatsOffToYa,

What are the permissions on the directory the file resides in?
