I'm trying to add back past connections from the mastodon.social instance that I'd lost when blocking the whole instance recently. I didn't know why I couldn't add back a lot of folks who I'd enjoyed engaging with for months until today because I forgot blocking an instance removes all connections from it.

I removed the instance block & now slowly adding my fave folks from that huge instance back.

I'll block bigoted/problematic folks on individual basis from that instance instead.

@msquebanh another option you have is to block specific posts.

if you see a phrase or word someone uses that you find to be bigoted then in preferences and filters, you can add that to your filters and block posts that show up as bigoted and etc. form showing in your feeds.
