One thing I noticed on the VW ID.3:
The power consumption is quoted in “kWh/h” (kilowatt-hours per hour), which offends my scientific brain.

It’s just kilowatts, surely?

@stroughtonsmith I think they stand a really good chance of being a breakout artist as a result of this. They have that neo-goth thing like Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish that’s super popular amongst youngs. Queer female rock like Delilah Bon and Cassyette (who I think wrote the song) is doing great right now.
It was an excellent choice of song.
I never thought I’d hear industrial music at Eurovision!

One of the interesting things is that whoever wins Eurovision has to host it the following year, which is expensive. So there are a few places that send people who are good, but just a little too basic to win (Hi, Cyprus!)

@designatednerd This was always the joke about Ireland that they were trying so hard not to keep winning because they couldn’t afford to host. There was an excellent Father Ted episode with this storyline.
Last year BBC budgets were cut drastically everywhere because of the cost of hosting Eurovision.

I love that both hosts are fluent in both English and French and literally nobody is surprised. Last year Hannah Waddingham breaking out in French caused a near-orgasm in the audience

On an unrelated note, there are certain types of stores that I really dislike going in to and one of those are automotive stores.

It seems to be a requirement that everyone in an automotive store has to puff themselves up with bravado, swear every other word, be covered in oil, and loudly complain that the goddamn fucking bullshit engine nozzle dunked in the fucking spigot and tore the alter-not-er to hell because some cockass left it in park and drove off while filling up the blinker fluid.

@bigzaphod My local car-based big box store has iPads where you enter your registration and it tells you exactly what bits and bobs will work with your car.
Ideal for people like me who actively avoid knowing anything about cars.
