Corporate online social networks ultimately aim to increase profits, so they inevitably enshitify themselves. Meanwhile, the federated system allows users to switch instances or even create their own should their current main instance become unappealing. It also allows users to join several instances simultaneously, allowing...
I disagree. I find the federated networks to be self cannibalizing closed off ecosystems that craft themselves into something worst than any “corporate” social network. Don’t get me wrong and think I’m a fan of traditional social networks. I’ve just come to understand that the federated universe of social networks is not what they made themselves out to be. They’re controlled by small groups with barely any transparency on security and privacy and little ability to protect users from the dangers of the Internet. These servers are run by a handful of individuals who answer to no one. The federated networks have become a haven for misinformation and bigotry on a level that rival the mainstream social networks. The content shared is usually just taken from other networks or so obscure they barely generate any engagement. Etc, etc… TLDR, it’s just worst here.
I really wouldn’t know. In this context I assume it means it is not deployed like traditional mobile networks are. The missing components being the hardware side like putting up towers etc.
You do realize that mass shootings are categorized on how many are shot and not how many dies. Let’s not also get into the fact that gun violence is still gun violence regardless of the charge. You need to find a new podcast.
Videos show a crowd gathered outside the school building attempting to break down the gates and forcibly enter, claiming that the Arab-Israeli students inside had disrupted their Shabbat prayer
Well excuse me for wanting to save the lives of children, women, elderly, press, humanitarians, etc… We all know the Israeli response is disproportionate and that they never intended to rescue any hostages. Do you really want to keep defending that government?
Yep it’s definitely a thing. For those saying you’re not seeing it, that’s because you’re not blocking it. I use multiple layers of ad blocking but my unlock is set to block third party scripts and frames by default.

It’s not about everyone being “happy”. It’s okay to not get everything you want and be content. The Israeli leadership over the past few decades has been everything but content. For them it has always been all our nothing.
EDIT: You know, after some time to cool off, Google Authenticator 2FA can still be enabled and isn’t being phased out like the less secure SMS 2FA, so it’s really not the end of the world here. The chance of permanent lockout is avoided, even if the whole Google Prompt system is still wack.
It’s the default because you made it the default. Change your damn security settings Google can’t do that for you! Quick to rant about something without knowing how it works or how you got there is on you and not Google.
Why can’t people just look this stuff up. Hamas is not Palestine. They are a militant group created by the UAE and possibly Russia to further their own goals in the region and world. The people of Palestine, actual Palestinians, are victims of both Hamas and Israel and the world needs to stop blaming them for this.
When more than half of the population of the Gaza strip are children and the elderly, any voting is just not legitimate. It’s like saying China runs fair elections.
