Hmm, me and my buddies have been playing Warhammer 40k Darktide. I only really play it because they like it. I am actually starting a new playthrough of outward and wanna use less mods this time. Maybe even get further in the story and not take the hardest route from the start! 😑
I know! It’s stupid!!! I went from a s7 to a s20 ultra and was pissed it didn’t have it. Completely destroyed it doing construction, and now have the s23 ultra and I’m still mad about it.
This is the problem, though. Even when getting paid the price people think they deserve. They tend not to do a great job when it comes down to it. Also some smaller mom and pop shops just can’t afford to pay you like a big store could. People don’t think about that, though.
You make a lot of good points. I also might’ve not made myself as clear since I am at work ATM and trying to type while in-between things.
I fully agree that you should pay someone what they’re worth. Just that’s the thing. I personally know people who are too lazy to lift a finger and want a office job where they do basically nothing and still expect $20 a hour and if they gotta do anything more it’s $50 a hour.
Some people are not a willing to trade their full efforts in return for that pay they desire. Me being one of them, but I at least still do my job and show up to work. I just do my job slower.
That’s why I bring up the fact that mom and pop shops can’t pay the same. A small shop might pay you the higher price, but if you then don’t do the work and they have to hire someone else… then you’re not really WORTH that price. Are you?
Look at where you live, then look at where I live. I live in the middle of nowhere. It’s cheap living and everyone gets cheap pay unless you work off shore. Even as a tile installer I only made $16hr… it’s not high pay.
I recently got a Synology NAS and I am trying to setup Emby. I wanna host a media server however, I wanna be able to access the emby location from anywhere and let say my mom access it. Just I wanna keep it secure. Should I use cloudflare?
I just worried about attacks on my router in case someone gets ahold of the link. Im learning all this security stuff. I actually helped my friend with his lemmy instance and got it running.
I just know next to nothing about security…
Give me something to try and get working I’ll pick it up, but I don’t even know where to start with this stuff. I read something the other day about using cloudflare to connect to a VPS and then direct that to my nas or something.
I have 2 VPS services and 1 already hosts my jellyfin instance but i was gonna try out emby however, I wanna share my library with family like I share my Jellyfin with them. Just the VPS I run my jellyfin on handles all the security stuff. shrugs
