How much alone time vs socializing do you need?

For me there are a few people who are usually equalizing, and I can just be around them, so I won't count that. But generally, I find about 3 times a week, I'm game for socializing. A day in between to rest is usually nice, but the larger the gathering or if we go somewhere particularly noisy or I'm meeting new people that involves more effort, and my social battery empties sooner. I'm very curious where everyone else falls on this!

@RickiTarr i actually have decent anecdotal evidence for this
Right before Covid hit - I think Feb 2020 - my wife and I went to a Murder Mystery Dinner thing. It was for her more than me but I had fun, I did my part and had fun with it and interacted with people and whatnot but when we drove home I was like "Whew that's over"
When quarantine happened it took my wife about 8 weeks til she wanted to do something but couldn't - it took me about 8 MONTHS i took to staying and wfh like a duck to h20

@flockofnazguls I would love that! Especially with one of Ottawa's famous prostitutes. We could hold hands and I would buy her a cocoa after. She would speak in a Quebecois accent

@flockofnazguls i hope that song mentions the National Gallery, my #1 thing to do in Ottawa!

Listening to Metal Machine Music by #LouReed for the first time, and I kinda love it. I think from now on I'm going to pretend my tinnitus is a cover of this album, on an eternal loop.

SpaceAce,
@SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar

@buffyleigh it turns into ambient music after five minutes for some reason!!
the most hilarious thing about it is it came out on a major label

SpaceAce,
@SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar

@buffyleigh it came out in quad AND stereo!!

Haha I used to have the 8 track

SpaceAce,
@SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar

@buffyleigh so I think in the whole scope of music it deserves to be - if only out if interest, odd things that could never happen again etc

From what I know this wasn't like Eno putting out Discreet Music and Island putting it out on the EG imprint and it's partially buried. Lou handed it in as a finished record on his RCA contract. It came out on lp cassette and 8 track. There was contracted advertising for it in RS and he did interviews for it! Ha everything but a tour

@SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar

@flockofnazguls @puffer they were so good up to Sugarfix and then became a parody of themselves haha but yeah that was in the Blood Guts & Pussy era

SpaceAce,
@SpaceAce@esoteric.party avatar

@puffer I once left a Ween concert about the 2 hr mark I just couldn't take it AND I LOVE WEEN

I remember seeing the Supersuckers open for the Dwarves. The Supersuckers played for 25 minutes and the Dwarves played for 15 or so. Great show!

    @tantramar you know I've been using Linux since 99-00 and this is a real shame everyone was so nice then. Like REALLY nice. I remember posting something dumb on usenet and some author sent me a free physical copy of his book to help me out!

    this series is... Alan Lomax doing for English folk music what he did for American roots music (all colors), he went and recorded a bunch of pensioners singing the songs they knew as kids in the 50s? I have a record like this but I don't listen to it because the people aren't good singers; I'm relieved here the old people involved ARE GREAT SINGERS so whew!

    @Binder I found four or five of these at one shop in Maine and am excited to hear them all I have both Child Ballads and then a one with nautical songs and another with ...hunting songs!

    There was this period around 2016-2018 where HMV in the UK...they have something like RSD, I dunno they have colored vinyl editions of classic albums. And the FOURTH Fairport Convention album came out first, then the FIRST, then the THIRD and I'm sitting here waiting for the 2nd and it's been haha 4 years since one came out? 5 years?
    Oh well I guess - since I have the 2nd one on regular black - I do have the first 4 Fairport on different colored vinyl :|

    1st 4 Fairport>1st 4 Sabbath (duck)
