VPN Recommendations?

Iโ€™ve been using Mullvad for the past few months. Have not had many issues with it aside from the 5 device limit and the removal of port forwarding. Iโ€™m currently looking at Private Internet Access as a potential replacement. It looks like it offers 10 device limit and port forwarding included with the price....

Sterben,

I have been using NordVPN since forever to be honest.

Never had any problem (servers always up and good speed too), but people say that it is very expensive in comparison with other VPN providers, so I donโ€™t know.

Sterben,

I got the 3 years deal, so it is quite cheap for me.

Sterben,

What is this? Honestly I donโ€™t understand the โ€œrepostโ€ thing.

Sterben, (edited )

I am afraid on iOS there are no easy work around, because you are not allowed to install app out of the App Store (I heard iOS 17 will have this feature).

However, you can use AltStore, is a program (Mac and Windows, no Linux if I am not mistaken) that allow you to side load 3 apps on you iPhone/iPad, but you will need to resign them every week to keep them working.

Having said that, as an iPadOS user, I can say that iTorrent is probably the best client to download torrents in your apple devices.

You can have a look at GitHub for more information. Sadly, the last update was on Sept 2020, but it stills work fine for me on my iPad Mini 5.

Good luck ๐Ÿ˜Š

EDIT: I am sorry, do you want something to manage your torrents from your iPhone? If so, sorry, I completely missread your request.

I think you can find an app you can install with AltStore.

Sterben,

Sadly, I think it is not possible. Game Pass games have Microsoft DRM, and completely break the compatibility with wine/proton.

No work around at the moment. :โ -โ \

Sterben,

For 42% it said 9h 21m.

This my health percentage:

So far nothing to complain about the battery. :)

Sterben,

I think they screen record it, but not through software.

Maybe they use a hardware to do that.

Sterben,

It look like a driver problem? Not sure though. Are other games working fine?

Would be useful to be provided with more information about your PC. :)

Sterben,

That was an interesting comparison. It is impressive how much Linux GAMING is improved.

Thanks for sharing. ๐Ÿ‘

Sterben,

Happy for you man.

What storage does it have?

I am playing Diablo 4 at the moment, run flowlessly, but Battle.Net is a bit of a pain to handle on Linux.

Here are some tools you would want to install:

  • CryoUtilities: a tool to optimize SteamOS (Mostly RAM and Storage).
  • EmuDeck: it will install a various range of emulators, sadly BIOS are not included.
  • Docky Loader: it allow you to load Plugins and constomize your experience with SteamOS.
  • Heroic Launcher: Linux Client for Epic Store and GOG.com.

For the rest, have fun. :)

EDOT: As others have said, you better off to full factory reset it, as a PC it can be tempered easily.

Sterben,

Hopefully ๐Ÿ˜Š I have experienced some crashes recently.

Sterben,

Look, if you want peace of mind use it, but it is also true that you will most likely be fine with it.

I personally use NordVPN, and I have been always torrenting with pretty good speed. I am pretty sure there are cheaper alternatives.

Good luck to You. :โ -โ )

Sterben,

Ahah they are funny ๐Ÿคฃ

  • Typed from a Pixel 7 Pro.
Sterben,

True, I was using it for 5/6 months, but before that I used Apollo for years.

To be honest I feel good about Lemmy, It just needs time to popolate.

Sterben,

That sounds just about right. That fact that it is open source, already give me a good peace of mind.

Thanks for the information. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Access info from reddit post?

Hey everyone! I was facing an issue with Hogwarts Legacy, so I decided to check out what the sub on reddit had (basically the game crashes right when the warning message comes up at the start). I know about the protest and stuff, and I could access a few posts from cached pages via google. Not all posts were cached, and they...

Sterben,

Could be useful to know more information, such as:

  • Compatibility Layer used?
  • Linux Distro used?
  • Method of installation?

Normally I would avoid use cracked games on Steam, there could be some conflict I guess. Lutris would be better.
