This is accurate in that there would be no one there so seats would be empty. I made a post on gaming Lemmy and it got like 237 up votes before it was deleted for being “low effort”. Meanwhile posts are few and far between so I quit the sub. Mods will be the quick death of Lemmy when they can’t recognize things like hmm we have low activity but let’s be internet sticklers and have poor rules that stifle content and keep it boring.

Yeah steam deck is awesome I have one as well and it got me to dabble with installing Linux on my laptop but there was just too many things that had to be done to get it running how I wanted. You’re selling it massively short by saying one command rules all. For instance, my laptop has an igpu and a desktop 2070 in it and Linux wanted to constantly use the igpu by default in games and it wasn’t that easy for someone that doesn’t use Linux that often to find a fix for that. I have a kid and a fulltime job I dont feel like configuring crap when I get home to have less time to play ya know?

Windows is better than Linux. You can game easier, Install older programs easier, you most likely won’t have any issues or have security issues like the Linux crowd says you will. It has amazing built in antivirus and compatibility with tons of hardware. Etc

Windows is definitely easier to install older programs on. Linux is getting better, especially thanks to steam/valve imo, but it’s impossible to recommend Linux to just about anyone that’s not in IT or interested in tech as everything seems to have a caviat or workaround you have to do to get stuff either working or just limping along. For instance…I installed endeavor on my msi gaming laptop and getting it to use my 2070 card over my Intel graphics was a nightmare for a first timer. I can’t recommend it especially when I just wanna game.
