TheOakTree,

I don’t NEED fast travel, but I would prefer if games still had an in-universe method of traversing from, say, the Easternmost region and the Westernmost region (i.e. a train, boat, horse carriage, etc.). I just don’t like spending significant amounts of time running back and forth through areas I’ve already discovered all the content in.

I appreciate fast travel in games like Kingdom Come Deliverance, where the fast travel still accounts for the time and resources spent.

TheOakTree,

I am certainly interested in the 2nd game. Should I play the 1st game before then? I heard mostly good things about DD1.

TheOakTree,

Maybe more useful for sous vide. Not a big fan of putting food in hot bags of plastic, though.

TheOakTree,

Lies of P is a solid game! It really clicked for me after the 4th main boss. Heavy, slow weapons seems to be more useful in a second playthrough, and I’m finding some NG+ fights easier than the original NG fights.

Aside from that, I’ve been playing M&B Bannerlord with lots of mods. Not an amazing game, per se, but still very nostalgic for me.

TheOakTree,

I didn’t know it was released on Mac at all! I hope you enjoy it if you pick it up. The game gets pretty hard, but if you are willing to learn the boss patterns it’s a ton of fun.

TheOakTree,

Nah but the President and other upper levels wouldn’t be able to afford their summer homes if you cut into their salaries!

TheOakTree,

I was trying to install a mod for a game yesterday. Gave it a google search. The first 5 links were trash sites that literally just said “download the mod files,” “install the mod,” “enjoy the game.”

No other instructions, no links, irrelevant images and captions. Just random filler details about the base game.

Lol.

TheOakTree,

Dear gen alpha… Skibidi toilet is s-tier shitposting, I appreciate your eye for fine art.

TheOakTree,

What do you mean? I know plenty of people who worked service jobs and bought cheap used cars in high school.

It just isn’t as feasible now.

TheOakTree,

Ah, that makes more sense. My bad on my part as well, the fediverse is certainly not just for US/Europe.

TIL: Using Inkscape instead of GIMP (kbin.melroy.org)

I used to work with Photoshop for years (industry standard, I thought). Moving to Linux, GIMP was the next to go logical step. I was never good in manually drawing vectors or embracing the vector image manipulation tooling in general which I regret now that I didn't move to Inkscape from day one. Yes, I used Inkscape back and...

TheOakTree,

I tried to learn GIMP to make some art a while back and got frustrated with the UI... I gave Krita a try and it felt simpler and therefore easier to learn. I wonder if I should try Inkscape, but I really haven't made anything in a couple years, so who knows.

TheOakTree,

The one guy who got with 9 people… is he a liar or a rizzler?

Can this be replicated with opensource software?[p2p file transfer over thunderbolt, and extremely low latency Video and game streaming (no encoding)] (www.youtube.com)

Further if this technology is open-sourced; can it be extended for use cases beyond that(Dual Motherboards sharing Compute power with low latency for working on a single process?); I know such solutions probably exist for servers and enterprises but i am talking about amateurs who don’t have 10K lying around for specialty...

TheOakTree,

One does not need to be a fan/recurrent viewer of LTT to be curious about a technology. And while most of the technical information sucks, the introductory level stuff can be useful for low and middle-end enthusiasts.

TheOakTree,

The fridge has a pop out drawer on the floor that also stops the user from closing the fridge, love it

TheOakTree,

MSI just announced their handheld PC too, it has an Intel (Meteor Lake) CPU with Arc graphics.

TheOakTree,

I don’t understand your point. You’re right with the “where do the Jews go,” but you’re failing to ask the same question about Palestinians who only have (or had) their homes and livelihoods in Palestine. Where do they go, in this current climate of decimation by the IDF?

TheOakTree,

I’m not sure what anti-Zionists think would happen to all the Jews living in Israel if it were just magically given to the Palestinians overnight, but here’s a hint: Hamas, the people running Palestine, literally, factually want to kill them all.

I don’t understand why you default to conflating the denial of a theocratic Jewish state to “hand over all the controls to Palestine.”

What part of opposing Israel as a state excludes current Israeli people from participating and organizing in a hypothetical one state solution?

Obviously, none of this is simple, and violence is not the answer, but I’m not sure why your idea of anti-Zionism focuses only on the most reactionary (and most likely to actually be anti-semitic) voices of anti-Zionism. This kind of language only drives polarization.

TheOakTree,

AirBnB started as a great example of a sharing economy, basically the peer-to-peer of travel lodging.

Now it is just a decentralized hotel system, but with no room service.

TheOakTree,

To be fair line breaks are not punctuation they are more of a structural thing i hope that makes sense
