This month is the final month of guaranteed major and security updates, and we already know Android 14 won’t land in the Pixel 4a (though it will in the Pixel 4a 5G as it has guaranteed updates until November)....
I would love to join you! Plans for the week are earning enough to pay for my bills and living expenses, as well as making contact with a local employment agency to help me find a job. I’ve been doing doordash for several months now and I can see how it’s absolutely killing my poor Subi :(
I’m trying to rediscover my hobbies as a way of keeping myself busy so I don’t think about buying any more poison. It’s bloody hard. Wish bottle shops weren’t so accessible- where I am literally every grocery store has a liquor store attached to it.
Can anyone help me identify what’s going on? As I’m riding, the mid drive motor on my E bike sometimes starts making a whirring noise and then loses power. The console and lights remains on but the motor doesn’t give any more assist. When I turn the power off and back on, it works again. Does anyone know if this is more...
I’m definitely no expert but I’ve owned a mid drive for a few years. It could possibly be the nylon gears transferring power from the motor to the bike’s gears- that happened to me early on. I’d go full throttle from a dead stop and eventually the gears sheared and binded.
Otherwise, depending on the actual sound it could be the driver fets or the motor itself. Can you post a short video or audio clip of it happening? Also does it only happen under load or can you trigger it with the back wheel off the ground?
If it only happens under load, that would make me suspect the motor driver. It sounds like the circuitry isn’t able to handle much current anymore, which would cause it to basically lock itself out for safety, until it’s power cycled. Most likely such a scenario isn’t communicated to the display.
I think most all of us here on Lemmy are people with technical background. Most of my professional contacts remained using Reddit, Twitter and even excited when Threads launched....
As an IT support officer, I (and my colleagues) deeply appreciate that you attempt to solve problems before calling us. There’s never ever any judgement if you do that and then need to call us. We’re here to help, but trying to help yourself first makes our job infinitely easier, not to mention you reaffirm your troubleshooting skills!
If you’ve genuinely tried to solve the problem but couldn’t, and the problem turns out to be that the machine wasn’t plugged in, I’m 100% not going to think less of you for it. You know many things I don’t, and visa versa.
I liken it to returning your shopping cart to the bay. You don’t have to, but you’re making someone’s day easier ❤️
This is one of my first plague lord babies, Obama. I often referred to him as the "ambassador of fancy rats" as he was incredibly calm, loving, easy going and inquisitive. Never once did he show even a hint of aggression....
This is Obama and Trump (I'll let you guess who's who), my first two rattos. They really opened my mind to the concept that pretty much every animal has a unique personality and temperament. I had to put them both down at different times due to ill health; another thing I quickly learned about rats. Still, we thoroughly enjoyed...
I don't know a whole bunch on the matter but it could be that the actual IC is damaged. As in, the mechanical components of it are broken or in a state that the IC can't compensate for. Not sure what you can do other than replace the component...
Modding on either Reddit or Lemmy seems like a lot of work. It's like a part time job where you don't get paid. What do the mods get out of their labor?
That's exactly what I was going to say. If someone loves their community enough, and has the time and willingness to do so, moderating an online community can be an extremely helpful contribution!
Just saying hi :) **So now learning when you post an image from Jeroba, it automatically recognizes the aspect ratio and orients it to landscape..? Beware of vertical phone pics (16:9). I will start using 4:3 instead. My apologies.

Pixel 4a (not 5G) owners, what do you plan to do with your phone now that it reached its final Android update? (lemmy.world)
