No, because if I use the credit card issued by my bank, I have to remember to pay it back. The bill doesn’t appear the same day, so I have to check back a few days later. Just long enough to forget half the time. There is no automatic payoff, so I see it as a trap to charge interest from me.
I know this is typical for the US so this is more for US people to respond to. I wouldn’t say that it is the best system for work, just wondering about the disconnect.
It amazes me that “made more money” doesn’t immediately sell this to every company across the world. But no, making people work longer hours to feel like the company is more productive is more important than making money and actually being more productive.
Interesting. I think you’re right. Management sees employment as an exchange of money for time. If productivity drops, the common response is more pressure to perform and reminding you of your place as the employee, and that your time is bought and paid for.
Legend has it that someone local to my parents place complained to the nearest town police about people constantly rolling through the stop sign at the intersection in front of their house. The police parked up within sight of the intersection, and the first person they pulled over for a rolling stop was the same one who had called in the complaint.
Story goes the cop immediately gave up and drove back to the nearest town where he came from.
I haven’t seen the point of saying anything against the man who is the face of a group of people who are only interested in milking all the money they can out of reddit. It’s just an expression of anger.
I have much more appreciation for “so long, and thanks for all the fish”
That’s been the overwhelming response each time I’ve seen it brought up. I want to help put little Lemmy symbols or something, but I haven’t seen one forming when I’ve had a chance to check
Ok, I went to the website, downloaded the app from there. Samsung and or Android warned me about it, but I went ahead. Seems to be legit, it just takes forever to load anything. Feeds, thumbnails, starting a video all take a long time.
My one guess is that 1.1.1.1 is interfering?
Edit: yes, that was it. I allowed Newpipe to bypass 1.1.1.1 DNS and it’s loading just as fast as YouTube itself now. Should have tried that before posting here.
My input for anyone on board for this is to start with the Lemmy logo. Put it everywhere, subtle and varied like the among us characters had been done before. Then, quickly, put one bold one and focus on getting the word Lemmy next to it. If the moderators don’t immediately squash that, go on to the other words you have laid out here.
Alternatively, put the smallest readable size of the word Lemmy.com all over Place.
Do you use a credit card? Why or why not?

Why don't schools simulate a typical 9 to 5 work week for students and remove homework entirely?
