You have found my bio, well done. Sadly, it’s not worth reading. I’m simply an old bloke whose body has started to disown him. Well travelled and worn out. My humour hasn’t progressed much from when I was 14.

Warped,

It seems strange to me how many these days openly discuss piracy, and what they are doing, how often, etc… It’s one thing to give vague instructions or point someone towards a website. But to actively say, ‘I downloaded X, from Y. It worked great.’ and/or ‘I’ve downloaded loads from X, I have over a thousand X, and they all work.’ it makes me cringe.

Possibly has to do with age. Piracy started for me by exchanging tapes of Dragon 32 games, and I guess recording the top 40 on a Sunday. You kept a low profile. I didn’t think I would get caught. My father was friends with a policeman who was our main source for pirated VHS videos and many games. So I felt whilst it was illegal, nobody gets caught unless you put your head above the parapet. That’s the point today, many seem to be a little too carefree. Helping each other out is great, and after all, piracy is about sharing. But do try and cover your tracks. Be sensible.

Warped,

I do know the law. You should try walking into a police station and saying, ‘I murdered someone.I’m just talking shit, there is no corpse or murder, just saying this for shits and giggles.’ then see what happens.

Seriously, maybe it’s just me, I prefer a quiet life. I don’t want the added stress of a corporation or lawyer threatening me, even if it is going to lead nowhere.

Warped,

Thanks, I wasn’t aware of this show or the events evolving around it. I do find the whole conspiracy theory thing fascinating, and the special mindset of people that desire to feel special and believe such things.

One of the most odd ones I stumbled upon, due to Twitter some years back. Revolved around the spoof show Ghostwatch from 1992. A small group of people get together over zoom and other social media places, such as twitter. Then start playing Ghostwatch at the precise time it was aired in 1992 on the BBC. Not that strange. Yet these people think it’s not a spoof documentary, or at least 75% of the footage is real, and the rest had to be spoofed to cover up the events or some nonsense. They also feel that during this collective playback of the show, it triggers many paranormal activities within their homes. I am sure I read that some even meet-up and perform a séance on the anniversary of the show.

It really does make me wonder, are these people needing attention, craving to stand out, wanting to belong to a niche group, etc… Because it confuses me that most of these people seem to genuinely believe this stuff.

Warped,

The British way is to speak it in English, but slowly, emphasising every syllable, and loudly, so everyone can hear. ‘Pie-ell-ah, yeah, under-stand, grassy arse.’ Oh, some of us Brits are so awful when abroad. I cringe, and sometimes feel I need to apologise for them.

Warped,

When travelling, I have always used the language or pronunciation of the country I am in. No doubt, getting most of it wrong. Many times I have been met with the ‘Oh, English?’ and then the person starts to speak English rather than their native language.

Warped,

I do wonder how long that sketch took to record, you can see Plain trying to not crack up.

Warped,

I thought it was ‘ree-oh-yeh’?

Warped,

Now that would be a party trick. See those two wheels? They drive me nuts!

Warped,

Look at the show-off, boasting about his almost 3 inches.

Just been asked by my thesaurus app if I'd like to upgrade to premium, which unlocks British spellings

Fuckin raging here. Enraged, frenzied, raging, vehement, livid, violent, frantic, desperate, incensed, fierce, frenetic, bent, beside oneself, boiling, crazed, demented, fit to be tied, infuriated, insane, irrational, maniac, rabid, unreasonable, up in arms, vicious, wrathful, bent out of shape, browned off, bummed out, fuming,...

Warped,

Thesaurus? Nah, I much prefer Diplodocus or Stegosaurus.

The Nightmare That Are Avatars and The Dreaded Bio

Maybe this is just me, but in the short time I have been here, I have changed my avatar at least five times. I’ve only been here four days. I am like this on any social media platform. Then the bio, what the hell do you write? They always say something like create an honest description. But if I’m honest, nobody will dare...

Warped,

I revert to humour as well. This is why I was saying in some way it’s representative of me. As comedy is a part of my life.

Warped,

I didn’t either. I tried to add one a few days ago, and it didn’t work. I was going to add this or this. Maybe it’s a size thing?

Warped,

I tend to close one social media account when opening another elsewhere. So my huge fanbase can’t follow me. Every place has a different avatar and bio, but all are pretty silly.

Warped,

Tennis. Go shove those balls up your … No, you may all enjoy that too much. It’s all over the place. I know it’s Wimbledon, but so what? Then the news about the latest British hopefuls, that we should be celebrating because they managed to tie their show laces and not fall over doing so.

Warped,

I would love to, but I have closed my account after being banned from numerous subs. Five of these subs I wasn’t even subscribed too, or even posted in them.

I will have a think of other places to promote the place, but I am in so few communities that I’m not sure what is left?

Then again, I did use up all my brain power with the idea of the banner. That does look amazing. So can I be excused from this game please? /s

Warped,

I wish I knew more, but apparently it’s quite a common thing. Mods that have too many subreddits will just ban you from other subreddits. I think mine may have been due to ‘Left’ leaning politics and being British. As they were very American orientated subreddits, and pretty conservative from what I recall.

Warped,

It’s a little while since I was in Poland, but I imagine some things are still the same. The police are heavy-handed. Beat up, throw in cell, ask questions later type of heavy-handed. I saw this on various occasions, to what we would call ‘drunk and disorderly’. I wasn’t in many touristy areas, so no idea if they are more laid-back for tourists. Saying that, in Oświęcim (The town that has Auschwitz on its outskirts) I saw a group of incredibly drunk Germans (They couldn’t stand) thrown in a police van, it took seconds. Loud bang as they were thrown forcibly in the van. Had they done more than just being drunk? I don’t know. Was this something to do with the area? Again, I don’t know. I wouldn’t get too drunk. Beyond that, the people are wonderful. Had a great time. Just don’t think the police are the same as here.

Warped,

This is true. Sadly, it appeals to my warped humour.
