Whisker,

…only to filter and sensor it, dropping throughput to DSL levels.

If LED bulbs are supposed to last for 10 years, why do I still need to replace them every 9 months? (hexbear.net)

I’m in a nasty frame of mind right now, and this is what my 'tism brain decided to laser focus on for several hours. I’m mad that my light bulbs cost 10x more than they used to, and don’t last any longer, and my power bill is higher than ever....

Whisker,

And the ability to dissipate that heat apparently depends a lot on the orientation of the bulb (socket up or down), enclosures, etc., so you can end up replacing LED bulbs in certain fixtures more frequently than others.

Whisker,

As others have commented, blocking is the most likely reason. That said, responding to ping requests typically is deprioritized when the networked device is loaded heavily and requests get dropped.

Whisker,

I think a lot of this boils down to extroverts' dependence on external stimuli, especially human interaction, to make them happy and feel self-fulfilled. While not exclusive by any means, it's extroverts who naturally seek and--arguably--who are good at starting and running businesses. So, there is a bias toward those who are making the call for a return to office--execs--being extroverted by nature. They are confusing consciously or subconsciously the drivers for why workers should return to the office being arguments around productivity rather than their needs and biases.
