I’ve been finding myself going back to Reddit as I don’t really care for 100% memes. I used to go on Reddit to learn things and read interesting content and discussions but I’m not really finding this on Lemmy....

Surely a pirate in the Caribbean or the Philippines wouldnt be too awful as you wouldn’t be out at sea that much and close to land. For me it’s the exploration and discovery that appeals to a life of piracy, but in reality I imagine it would be an absolute dog shit existence, especially compared to that of a samurai (minimal bloodshed unless there’s a war) or cowboy (you look after horses on a ranch). However, many pirates just did a stint and then returned back home, so what’s 2-3 years of making booty and having PTSD from cannon fire/pillaging.
This is wild, a significant percentage of Twitter’s value was its brand, and this guy has just slapped an X on it and changed the colour scheme to dark mode. Do people actually still use Twitter?
This was nearing GoT level ass pull, did anyone watch this and enjoy it. I counted 15 minutes Alice was lying on the floor with minimal dialogue. Everyone came back to life after what was a very well made penultimate episode, then we had three fake outs with the final boss, only to end with it was all a dream, but not really as...
I’ve been living here for a few years now and it strikes me as so bizarre not to acknowledge someone’s presence as they come into the office. Is it the norm here? I am a Northerner so this could be a reason it is so jarring to me.
Any league fans here on lemmy? A shame that the subreddit did not participate in the blackout but maybe we can still start a small community here for those of us leaving reddit for good.
My Lemmy feed is purely memes, where can I find text posts and discussions?

The season 2 finale of Alice in Borderland may be the worst episode I've ever seen

Is it normal to not say hello or good morning to your colleagues when you come into the office?

This is a classic Zomboid guide which really helped me in surviving week 1. Hopefully it can help some newbies who wander over to this community.

Should we change app names?
I've heard a lot of people want to change app names. Which I'm totally fine with! I've heard a lot of love for the name "Voyager"...
