one of my favorite aspects of iOS development is that there are 1024 flavors of MVVM, and nobody admits with a straight face that it is a Fat Model that matters

My SwiftUI previews for Please Don’t Rain stopped working and I couldn’t figure out why. I finally filed a TSI asking for help.

I have my answer.

They broke because I have an apostrophe in my app name. 😭

In order to get them working again now they are suggesting I do a “pretty thorough rename” throughout the app. My concern about breaking something else (and the time it would take to fix) is greatly overwhelming my desire to use previews that haven’t worked for months.

I'm legitimately excited about getting new iPad Pros. I know several devs who don't have an iPad or don't use theirs but it's honestly my most used Apple device.

When I'm on my Mac my iPad is on a stand next to it and I use them both. When I'm not using my Mac at home I carry my iPad around with me.

I barely use my iPhone when I'm at home, which is one of the reasons why it's so frustrating that iPadOS often gets features a year (or more) after iOS.

I long for a time where you could search for a shell command on Google and the results wouldn’t be half AI spam.

It looks legit on first glance but then you see brew commands mixed up with apt commands. Oh the hatred.

Threw my hands up today and opened a TSI to try and get SwiftUI previews working again with Please Don't Rain.

A few releases of Xcode ago they stopped working completely and I have no idea why. Running on device or simulator is fine.

I've tried removing derived data and deleting my simulators via xcrun. No luck.

I cannot function as a human anymore without the iOS Reminders app and am constantly using Siri on my Apple Watch to create them.

Having on-device Siri has been so nice. The other day I set a reminder while I was in airplane mode on a flight and I realized that it didn't matter. It just worked when previously it wouldn't have.

If all macOS 15 does is remove that stupid emoji-palette-blocking autocomplete popup that Sonoma added, I will be happy. Adding an extra step to something I do a hundred times a day, without giving an option to turn it off? Genius.

It's even better that invoking the keyboard shortcut twice bypasses it… — except when it doesn't have an emoji to autocomplete, and then the double-shortcut presents then immediately dismisses the emoji palette instead

@stroughtonsmith omg! Thanks for the flag! This feature and not being able to turn off keyboard snippets iCloud sync are the two worst things imo. Not even a flag for that one as far as I’m aware.
