I want a good, yet inexpensive laptop. I’m not going to be doing much in the way of programming in this and most of the work will be web based. Should be small, and portable, with good battery life, and a decent screen. Mostly going to use it as my millennial “this is a computer email” tasks 😅
Any suggestions?
I have absolutely no limitations on operating system. I can make any of them work.
@chris Maaaaaaan I wanted to get one of these but they were just too expensive for the price point I was aiming for, and they're almost completely sold out right now.
Rightfully so, I've heard such good things about them.
Might end up getting one of these as my primary computer someday.
This is your friendly reminder to change the batteries in your smoke alarms because, if you don’t, they are contractually obligated to chirp during the night.
@cdils ours don’t chirp. They, in the creepiest and poorest quality possible shout “REPLACE BATTERY” but at 3 AM it’s enough to make you jump out of your skin.
So this is kinda neat. I added a tiny little widget to my WordPress dashboard that allows me to speed up the process of publishing microposts (tweets) on my site.
@pch yeah, it’s literally something I just threw together - nothing really special or organized, just a single file plugin. Let me toss it up on a repo real quick.
@carstingaxion@pch thanks! Yeah, I was considering the idea of doing custom post types but went with post formats because I needed to use the app for when I post.
@benlk@rachelnabors yeah, I haven’t got quite that far yet - been developing it kinda organically as I go. I definitely plan on hiring an illustrator in the future. I actually considered hiring someone to do pre-rigged 3D models so I can pose them in different ways, but that might be too much work on both ends.
