The most exciting thing about Siren to me? I’m JUST getting started. Launch will be a solid start, but I have so many ideas on how it can help people develop partnerships online that I’m having trouble prioritizing them.

I am calling Siren an “affiliate plugin” because that’s the easiest way to describe it, it undersells it.

The truth is, Siren is a whole new category unlike anything you’ve ever seen. I’m not competing with other affiliate plugins, I am superseding them.

I got to fly the big kite this afternoon! Little guy kept getting ripped up. I had to adjust the birdle a bit, but once I did I was flying high!

The big one is a lot slower, but it pulls you a lot harder, so it’s more of a workout, and still reeeeeeally fun.

Shout out to my science teacher neighbour who blocked me on WhatsApp 6 months ago unblocked me last night, rang me at 11:45pm, text me to say "The Aurora Borealis is outside right now and I don't want you to miss it", sent me a photo of said Aurora Borealis ABOVE MY HOUSE, then blocked me again.

So, I built Siren's documentation portal, and the entire site is built using WordPress and the full-site editor. It's my first complete build using FSE, so I wrote up a reflection on it.

I’m using OBS, and @kdenlive to record all of my documentation tutorials for Siren. It’s been my setup for a while now. I use @inkscape and @GIMP for art assets and and SVG tweaks. I actually think the only that this is not FOSS that I used to build Siren is PHPStorm 😅

My #GameBoy case from when I was little. The #console yellowed a bit with the years, but it still works fine, from when things were made to last and tech wasn't so finicky. I didn't have many games, so I beat all the ones I had. Mostly Super Mario Land series, Wario Land, R-Type, Metroid, etc. That Prince of Persia game was also good fun and very difficult. I don't collect for the console anymore. It's just a token of my childhood now. #Nintendo #videogames

Something I frequently need in Siren is a flowchart to help explain how different affiliate programs work, so I'm putting together a flowchart block. Making good use of the LeaderLine library and core's group block, as well as an existing card block I already had laying around. Really loving how much less code I'm writing to do simple stuff like flex layouts with full site editing.

I'm still getting used to using a full site theme for WordPress. But WOW today was a win. I'm working on setting up the documentation portal for Siren, and literally just created a custom post type, and that was the extend of the code. I'm able to build all of the template layouts for the post type in the FSE context.

This is REALLY cool!

I’m working on the launch documentation for Siren. I’m pretty comfortable with video, so I decided a great place to start is by building a getting started course using Lifter LMS. I think that’ll translate into text fairly fast.
