Might be a violation of right to privacy, but based on what we've been covering in my COMM Law and Policy class this week my guess is that wouldn't apply because they're knowingly in the public view by being on the street. Some other law might still apply though.
Near miss between 2 satellites today at 608 km altitude - the derelict Russian satellite Cosmos 2221 and the operational but non-maneuverable NASA satellite TIMED, both in near-polar orbits.
The close pass was expected but the actual distance of <20 meters at ~14 km/s relative velocity is sobering.
LeoLabs estimates that a collision would have added between 2,500 and 7,500 debris fragments to LEO space, which currently has nearly 12,000 fragments.

I'm like 99% sure I've seen another artist's impression for some space mission or concept with the exact same background of the earth, the clouds and colors look exactly the same as what I remember. XD

Not just for them but for everyone around them. This is a crowded college campus (75,000+ students) and I have enough trouble not colliding with anyone crossing the road in the wrong spot without texting.
Looks like the death penalty is still an option for this offense, though, so there’s still a ways to go. Good to see the government moving in the right direction though.
