@kkarhan having heard varoufakis actually speak about these things, i am extremely skeptical that wsws's reporting on what he said is even remotely accurate. varoufakis is extraordinarily critical of the way modern capital is, and its doubtful he would recommend catching up to anyone's brutality

try editing the GDS and cutting 30 or 40 wires
30 or 40 wires is enough to add a DSP tile to your FPGA fabric
add them directly in the GDS with a layout editor
you will certainly not regret cutting 30 or 40 wires in the logic tile to add a DSP block outside of the fabric area on the floorplan

we live in a world of e-waste and related refuse, from batteries to electronics to fluorescent lights, and yet no where, afaict, has incorporated e-waste pickup into their waste management processes, nor are there widespread e-waste dropoff points

@Drmowinckels there is so much trash, that that's an infeasible answer. if you don't provide streetside pickup for it, people will simply dump it on the street and then you'll have to clean all that trash up or have gross cities. historically that's what happened and what still happens during strikes

@Drmowinckels e-waste etc is fortunately not stinky but it has its own hazards like batteries starting fires or leaking toxic chemicals. since there are no collection bins, and since dropoff points are usually inconveniently far away from people, they have to either store up a pile of stuff that they eventually lug to the drop off, or it all goes in the normal trash. that's just what people do

@Drmowinckels what we need is either another pickup bin for e-waste, so that it gets picked up alongside other waste, or we have widespread dropoff points, by which i mean like end of the block kind of distance. otherwise people will continue to just throw stuff in the normal trash

@Drmowinckels individually we might not make a lot of waste but collectively it's a lot and the existence of trash pickup should make it easy for them to add an ewaste collection and eliminate the problem entirely. but instead we just collect up our ewaste until we remember to take it with us and drop by the disposal place or whatever, and it's such an inefficiency. probably in the US more damage is done from driving to ewaste disposal places than just dumping it into the trash
