Glad you enjoyed it! I feel much of the info is lost on me. I did pretty good at the game though. I think it said my rank beat 86% of players. I’m studying music right now though, so I do spend a fair bit of time working on my listening skills. Still, I feel I just got lucky.
When your life depends on these skills, you’re only going to be left with the best of the best, so it’s no wonder the animals can do it.
It’s been almost a year now I’ve been Lemmy’s amateur owl guru, and I still learn so much about these amazing animals every day. Such impressive creatures!
It’s not bad, but when I try to get people to actually read, I feel I need to entice them a little extra. 😄
It’s nice hearing about everyone working together to help animals in need. I feel there’s a lot of rightfully frustrating things going on grabbing everyone’s attention lately, but it’s still important to remember the good people are capable of, so I’m glad to find things like this to share with you all.
Tech seems to really be helping owl research, especially as more and more once expensive equipment becomes more affordable and portable.
I know I mentioned again the other day the drones keeping people safe from the harsh winter and dangerous mountains to study the Blakiston’s Fish Owl, and satellite imagery helps find likely nest sites. I was reading about AI trying to decide owl calls today. I covered the iPhones for Owls a while back for them to do audio scanning and mapping.
It’s making things better and safer for the owls and humans, so that’s as good as it gets!
