Via the "three horizontal exclamation marks" button on the bottom action bar you can search globally for communities, not only ones you've subscribed, if that's what you mean.
If you mean full text search, idk if Lemmy even has that.
This might already be being worked on, but: I noticed that when I subscribe to a community the state of the Subscribe button doesn't change to Joined until I restart Jerboa. Similarly, the list of subscribe to communities in the burger menu doesn't update....
But just to add, I've noticed both of these things too. Actually the Subscribe/Joined button seemed to update almost "immediately" for communities on my local instance, but not for federated communities. The list only ever seemed to update after restarting the app.
What is your favourite 3rd party Lemmy client?
