brogrum,

I’ve just watched WP’s stream where he tries out the new weapons (beta) and I’m rather unimpressed. I’ll wait until they are actually finished and we know what the final numbers are. What really irritates me are the alternate implementations of existing concepts like the combo fields on guardian pistol.

Re-posting from my lemmy.wtf account, since outgoing federation from lemmy.sdf.org appears to be broken at the moment:

Of course I don’t know for a fact that LFG actually checks subgroup 1 to figure out whether a squad’s map is full, but it seemed pretty plausible.

Also, I didn’t say that map full detection is in any way related to the squad size limit. The question is how does LFG determine whether a squad’s map is full? Does it actually check the map of the squad’s commander (squad might not have one) or does it check the map of the first player in subgroup 1 (which is what I think).

I have even seen squads to explicitly use subgroup 1 as a lobby/queue for players not in the commander’s map (yet) which would be really bad, if LFG actually uses the first player of subgroup 1 to check whether the squad’s map is full.

I’m looking foward to the offhand pistol buffs and the Relic (of Aristocracy) fixes for my Celestial Mechanist. This should significantly increase the damage.

Mechanical Genius: For a short period of time, the effect will remain active even after the mech moves out of range of the engineer

Not quite clear, why they don’t get rid of this mechanic/penalty entirely, knowing how much the Mech enjoys to wander off.

Overall, mostly buffs, so probably most will be happy.

Well, they found GS to be too strong on non-Vindicator, nerfed it to the ground and buffed some Vindicator traits instead, e. g. damage increase after dodge. I’m getting tired of this messing around for the sake of “balance”.

You can also send an in-game mail, if you neither find Meldrk (meldrik.3572) nor me (xlion.3065 or brogrum.1309) being online. Please state your account name in that mail (though I think guild invitation via character name work, too).

And don’t forget to once in a while open the guild panel when you are in-game to check for a pending invitation to our guild.

Oops, I should have posted this from my Necropola☑ account.

brogrum,

… but you wouldn’t equip an Ascended Celestial piece on a pure power build, because it would be worse than an Exotic piece with Berserker, Assassins or Marauder stats. Unless you are very desperate for Agony Resistance, but in that case you should probaly change stats.

Oho, up and running. Nice!

brogrum, (edited )

Don’t you get a Raptor mount at level 10 when you have bought any of the existing expansions, i. e. HoT, PoF or EoD?

brogrum, (edited )

Wow, this was weak.

Also, I thought Anet wouldn’t use Twitter as the primary platform for publishing news/media anymore.

…guildwars2.com/…/133439-visit-the-news-and-annou…

We are not able to predict how future updates to Twitter’s policies may impact our official account’s availability, and it’s important to us that all players have a reliable source of news about the game, your accounts, and our studio. We will continue to communicate on Twitter like we have previously, but we will make our news and announcements forum our first location for “breaking news” on issues that affect things like the live game service. The Guild Wars 2 forums are visible regardless of registration or login, and we will keep it that way.

So for “issues” we have to check the forums and for (SotO) news we still have to check Twitter and/or the official web site? What a mess.

And how many Rifts or Rift-like events is Anet going to (re-)implement?

brogrum,

@meldrik I wonder wether updating to 0.18.3 fixes the issue that opening an existing thread with new comments often scrolls to a seemingly random position.

brogrum,

Oho, up and running. Nice!

I hate it when core mechanics are disabled to increase difficulty or rather when the challenge is us being inconsistent since we are ArenaNet.

brogrum,

Not only is it 1920x1080. It’s also so beautiful that you just have to vote for it, right? 😀

brogrum,

Yeah, it’s almost funny how difficult it is to find authoritative information about which (communication) restrictions exist between regions. I only have EU accounts, so I can’t help. Sorry.

brogrum,

… and do their next AMA on lemmy.wtf instead of reddit. 😀

The current 0.18.1-rc.x which is running on lemmy.world was a huge performance improvemen, i. e. lemmy might actually be able to handle such things in the near future.

It also looks like avatars of magazines/communities from kbin.social as well as post thumbnails no longer appear on lemmy instances with subscribers, e. g. the following path (to a post thumbnail) no longer exists

…kbin.social/…/76923c7d21f22267ab574af6cce81c8438…

or rather it has been changed (addtional media/ in the path) to

…kbin.social/…/76923c7d21f22267ab574af6cce81c8438…

Same for community/magazine avatars:

…kbin.social/…/0872526554b6cf5b2afa04c75cbefbfc28…

appears to have been changed (addtional media/ in the path) to:

…kbin.social/…/0872526554b6cf5b2afa04c75cbefbfc28…

This does not look like a temporary issue, but a persistent issue that effects all communities and posts that have been fedearated before the change.

Maybe it fixes itself, if old posts get edited/changed and/or someone edits the description or avatar of an affected magazine so that an update gets pushed.

@meldrik It’s all over now …

github.com/libreddit/libreddit/issues/840

I’m happy to endorse a fellow Rust project, Lemmy! Lemmy is a federated, decentralized, free, and open source alternative to Reddit that has shot up in popularity since the Reddit API news.

codeberg.org/teddit/teddit/issues/411

Most instances I use are getting 429 errors today. Is there any plans for circumvention?

tedd.it/shutdown

Lemmy is the New Reddit

As an alternative to Reddit and tedd.it, I invite you to try Lemmy, an alternative to Reddit built for the Fediverse. It’s free, open source, and not controlled by a company or central entity. Many of those who left Reddit following the chaos have found their home there.

brogrum,

It seems like (at least) the unauthenticated endpoints of the reddit api are still working. and hence is libreddit as well as teddit.

brogrum,

I’ve also seen suggestions to use IPv6 on those instances and switch the IP when being throttled.

Anyway, it looks like Reddit is determined to consolidate it’s user base, i. e. focus on those who are barely smart enough to use a computer/smartphone but stupid enough to stay no matter how they are treated.
